Follows the story of Claire Randall, a married combat nurse from 1945 who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743, where she is immediately thrown into an unknown world where her life is threatened. When she is forced to marry Jamie Fraser, a chivalrous and romantic young Scottish warrior, a passionate relationship is ignited that tears Claire's heart between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives.

Myka : You slept with her didn't you ?
Pete : Well... you... you told me to investigate ok ? So... she's unarmed.

Yeah, I'll probably delete it before the pilot is over.

Might not even watch the pilot.!

DRM "manages access" in the same way that Prison "manages freedom".

Re: Outlander (2014)

It's got to pretty bad if the Starz grade T&A won't keep you in for a few eps.

Re: Outlander (2014)

It looks a bit different so it is worth an episode at least.

And the Starz stamp for me means it won't be sanitize to hell like big networks shows.

Re: Outlander (2014)

This book was super famous for being brutal, racy, adventurous etc. I'm a sucker for time travel as well so I checked out the first episode. It felt a little slow at parts, but by the end it got interesting. I liked the acting quality as well.

Re: Outlander (2014)

I had my doubts but gave the first ep a shot. Very well done. Good enough to try the second ep. Good cast, good scripts and good directing do make a difference. And Starz lack of restraint when it comes to censorship is always a plus.

Re: Outlander (2014)

I watched the first episode. Looking good so far.

Slow start but once it did, it got entertaining.

Re: Outlander (2014)

I actually liked the "contemporary" bit better. The 18th century seemed a little weird, will keep on for a few eps tho, it was well done, if a bit too artsy for my tastes.

Re: Outlander (2014)

I liked it, seems well made, i like the main charachter and the Music is good also.

"The speed of the Ninja, is the speed of the night."

Re: Outlander (2014)

It's Bear McReary doing the music bits. It literally cannot be bad.

13

Re: Outlander (2014)

Ah, The Bear is at it again, he of Galactic, Eureka and many other fantastic scores.

14

Re: Outlander (2014)

Yeah, Bear seldom dissapoints.

"The speed of the Ninja, is the speed of the night."

Re: Outlander (2014)

Way too slow for my taste, couldn't get through more than half of the episode.

The start was a bit slow. If you are impatinet you wont miss much if you skip the first 37 minutes of the pilot. That is where the timetravel happens and things start getting interesting.

I might check if out later on but Ill wait first and see if the show will pick up pace or not.

Re: Outlander (2014)

This is shaping up into a quite good show so far. Loving the intro music

Re: Outlander (2014)

It's still pretty slow paced but still interesting enough to keep watching it for now.

Re: Outlander (2014)

yeah I keep watching it and thinking "I am so not the target audience for this" - yet I still like it.

21

Re: Outlander (2014)

A slow pace is ok sometimes, it depends on the show. I don't expect guns to be blazing all the time in a romance (and it is a bit of that), although it is a drama and sci-fi as well.

Re: Outlander (2014)

I'm loving it so far. Only wish I had the patience to wait out the season then binge-watch it. Hate going week to week with shows this good.

I couldn't agree more, on paper i should hate this show and would never have started watching but its fast becoming a real favourite.

Re: Outlander (2014)

I haven't enjoyed the last two episodes, although overall I am enjoying this show very much. Admittedly I skipped over all the scenes from 1945, I feel like apart from maybe 5 minutes from the pilot episode this show could work without any of the 1945 stuff.
