It's funny that the worst thing in this episode were all the scenes involving the undead. I especially laughed during the scenes concerning getting the medical supplies. How is throwing flares supposed to distract ALL zombies for SEVERAL minutes? This wouldn't be so dumb if they didn't have to get inside a trailer with only one entrance/exit.

Yo, let's go for a quick, quiet run. *takes the shotgun*

I'm going to have to join you guys on this one...instead of quietly opening the medical supply trailer door a fraction and having a stealthy look to assess the outside situation...lets just barge the door wide open and just go for it without a plan even though we know there are literally 100 zombies just outside..

Re: 2x02 Bloodletting

Let me sum up what I'm going to post here: I can't seem to hate this series as others do.

I had a hard time spotting any real problems with this episode. The "stupid" things they do or did are always explainable as emotion-fueled choices, acting on instinct or some other form. Yes you can always say: "I'd rather do it like this" or whatnot, but hindsight is weak. I seriously pity everyone having such a hard time enjoying this show as I'm apparently one of the few not bothered at all with quibbles. I hope all you detail-whiners find another zombie series that's atleast up to the insane level of quality you come to expect from it.

I'll be avoiding this sub-section as it is apparently mandatory to hate this show or else you are some kind of weird person.

No one is saying that characters on the show should act like they've all read and memorized at least a 500-page zombie survival handbook. But on the other hand it's hard not to complain if most of them act almost like they have suicidal tendencies and IQ below 50.

Re: 2x02 Bloodletting

If you want to discuss the strengths of the show, by all means, discuss 'em!
Reading the comics, it's easy to see that it actually has been done better before...maybe not on tv...but seriously...what's so bad about being able to see faults in it? faults that are actually there! nobody's imagining them...we all arrive independently at these conclusions/observations...

Also, not everything can be explained by emotionally driven choices...unless you have no understanding of psychology and all emotionality = irrationality.

Re: 2x02 Bloodletting

Well. in my opinion a very small and poorly armed group of survivors living in a world full of zombies should have at least a decent survival instinct or otherwise they would already join the legions of the undead. Watching the show and seeing how they react (also in less stressful situations) makes you constantly wonder how were they able to survive that long... are they using godmode or what? wink

Naturally there aren't a lot of other zombie shows you could compare TWD to. But let's take a look at Dead Set. People acted emotionally and sometimes irrationally on that show (the blonde, the producer of the reality show at the end) and they all went down pretty quick. In TWD they've been living for months now and somehow managed not to join the zombie side.

Re: 2x02 Bloodletting

I do not want the show to be bad, but it just doesn't give me much of a choice. As for "find another zombie series that's atleast up to the insane level of quality you come to expect from it," the comic books (on which the show is based on) perfectly works for me. And for a lot of other people. Btw, how about reading the comics? It's only 10 issues and you'll be to the point in the show.

Haha I posted a negative thing about TWD on TVByNumbers. Guess what. XD

Re: 2x02 Bloodletting

in a world we are living today we are all allowed to show emotions and have opinions. it's a free world right? (at least most of it)
in a zombie apocalypse where survival is your 110% priority you are not allowed to have emotions. at least not on life and death situations. maybe alone in your tent you can cry yourself to sleep, but seriously.
wanna live? then toughen up and make rational decisions and at least act like you know what you are doing.

"Avenge Me."
"Judgment Day is inevitable."

Re: 2x02 Bloodletting

Why oh why did they need to show each dull and slow scene at least two times? These last two episodes has really been quite boring since it hasn't taken the story further in any way.

And all the whining about the kids ... oh my.  I hope they shoot the kids and be done with 'em. mad

Well call me 'late to the party', but I'm on Season 2 of The Walking Dead. Funny all the people on here who said the show was such a failure and what not... Here we are 10 years later - - hahaha.
I can definitely see why the show has its following. I started out with FTWD last year, and now I'm here with NO regrets. Thanks to Lollie , Lighton, whoever else recommended... smile

There are plenty of shows that seem to go on forever (some even when you're watching them) when they should have been cancelled years ago.

The reverse is also true.  Firefly, anyone?

2020.  Meh.

True, but it would be quite funny if a show called The WALKING DEAD would go on forever, refusing to die! big_smile
