Will continue watching for sure.
I agree, felt off a bit. To me personally it felt too much like Game of Thrones...just a bit lesser though. I know of course that Dune came before The Song of Ice and Fire but still, can't stop seeing the similarities to the tv show in particular.
There is also a lack of character introduction here. In GoT, after the first episode you could name every single major character from House Stark, Baratheon and Targaryen without having to look them up again. Here only Valya Harkonnen and Desmond Hart stayed in memory - him only because he is played by "Ragnar Lothbruk"
Never really got into Dune as a fantasy saga. I watched and liked the 2000 mini-series Frank Herbert's Dune https://next-episode.net/frank-herberts-dune but that's about it. I also watched the new movies but couldn't get into them at all.
Shows that deserved more runtime:
Abbys | Dead Like Me | Devs | Firefly | Gangsta. | Jack of all Trades | Kevin (probably) saves the World | Lodge 49 | Mrs. Davis | NYC 22 | Powerless | Roadkill | Special Unit 2 | Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi | Stumptown | Surface | The Brave | The Company You Keep | The Crazy Ones | The Finder | The Middleman | Truth Seekers | Two Weeks to Live | Whiskey Cavalier
