I tried but wasn't able to get through the first episode. The acting was so bad and stuff. I tried twice but just couldn't do it. I was very psyched for this, too.

Interesting, the acting was fine for me. 8/10 show so far.

1x3 contained a few bloopers. ▼Spoiler 1) The Bikini Atoll looked only real in the aerial shot. Then it was filmed on an island with mountains. But maybe it's only me who's a bit disappointed.  2) After landing on the glacier, the position of the sun changed drastically between two shots. Weird, I had wondered if all of that was CGI.  3) The dead body in the plane would have been totally frozen being out there IMHO (the snow around the plane was in perfect shape), even with the sun out. But I still enjoyed watching it.

It had its silly moments. The one that irked me the most was that when they aligned the maps:
1. both of them were apparently exactly the same despite coming from 2 different sources
2. they drew them in scale perfectly so they aligned It's so minor but I got hung up on it There is definitely other stuff like that take me out of this show perhaps more than usual, but seems interesting enough so far.

Ha Ha, I was thinking the same thing with the map scaling. Apart from that, I'm not trying to take it too seriously (its about giant freaking monsters for gods sake)...I'm enjoying it.

I am rather disappointed with this show. All the time shifting is tedious and throttles things happening. I think it is being used just to extend the series to fill a quota of episodes. Being thrown a monster is not a good recompence

Yeah, the show's not as good as I had hoped. 1x7 at least introduced Dominique Tipper - aka Naomi Nagata of https://next-episode.net/the-expanse fame. Took me a few minutes to remember where I saw her before.

eps 8. 5 secs of monster. greeeeeeat. Atleast we now know some thing about where they came from. Had to wait 8 eps before we were told that. Thanks for nothing. I don't like shows that do this.

Yes, agreed, I've noticed the same thing, but I've also noticed on here, and other message boards, people complaining that there isn't enough character development in <xyz> sci-fi series. I'm with you in that I prefer a series to concentrate more on the "event/happening" than on whether the lead character has fallen out with his daughter and is estranged from his ex-wife or whatever, but it seems others want more of that. So I guess a shows writers are dammed if they do and dammed if they don't. Not to mention if a show focuses more on the human side it means less effects/model work and a series is, therefore, cheaper to make.

the first two episodes where extremely promising, the got a 4.5★ so i had high hopes. But well they never recovered, most of the rest only got a 3.5★-Rating from me, not bad but not great either.
I love deep and well written characters, interaction and believable authentic dialogues and acts/plots, no matter if its fiction, fantasy and sifi or closer to "real live" drama - if its shallow and unbelievable i cannot enjoy watching it - and this show sadly did exactly this, there was great potential as E01+02 prove Well normally "Godzilla" is nothing i can take really serious - but if writer, director and actors take it serious and the technical setup is good as well (like in E01+E02) - surprise surprise: the viewer so "i" can take it serious despite being "godzilla", and i really was quite astonished and surprised by it (E01+02)- which made me liking it even more.
Does that make sense?

Totally makes sense. Yes, if writer, director and cast all perform well (along with a decent budget), virtually any kind of genre or niche can be good entertainment!

This show will be one I fall back on to watch ( in future if a season 2) when I have have nothing better to watch
