Re: Raised by Wolves [Drama, Sci-Fi] (Ridley Scott)
Pretty typical Ridley Scott for me. Well, I say that, he has done *some* good stuff along with a lot of rubbish (Prometheus anyone? Shockingly bad). After 3 eps I find it as deep as an episode of Peppa Pig. So many avenues to explore and so many missed, at least so far.
I don't watch trailers. I never have and I never will. I don't like Tom Cruise, James Cameron and there's lots more to add, give me time I don't like Star Wars or Star Trek or any superhero *hit

Re: Raised by Wolves [Drama, Sci-Fi] (Ridley Scott)
My impressions: A little Ragnar Lothbrok (Vikings), a little "The Lady" (Kill Joys - that voice) 'isms'. I was bothered by Campion's British accent at first. I mean Mother doesn't have a British accent, and she raised him. But, then I realized Father has a British accent and is conceivably where Campion acquired his from (though still unlikely imo). Enjoyed it. Looking forward to more only I wish it were 3 at a time (or episode dump) but I only see one for the 10th. Edit - forgot to add that I accidentally watched episode 3 first without realizing it. I didn't know until I'd watched the entire episode and then backtracked and watched 1 and 2. It was ok though. I enjoyed bearing it in mind while watching the first two.

This is very high on my todo list. I saw nothing but excellent reviews on IMDb.

Just finished 1x3. If I had accidentally started with 1x3 I would have been pretty confused. Quality show! The scenes from the past add more and more substance to the present-day story.

Just finished season 1. WTF. A good show and I enjoyed it, but really, WTF.

First half was great, but I really didn't like the three last episodes.

I've enjoyed this series. However... The last episode reminded of me of 'Lost' and 'The X-Files'. Where you were constantly led up a path, but there was never anything at the end of it. Constantly just expected to 'believe' or 'accept' the most ridiculous ideas, and yet nothing is ever actually explained. If they go down that route, i won't be watching much more.

Re: Raised by Wolves [Drama, Sci-Fi] (Ridley Scott)
I officially no longer have any idea of what's going on in this show. What is it about? No idea. "Things happen". The worldbuilding would be interesting, but seems to be either poorly presented or constantly undermining itself. The story keeps going into directions, only to rapidly change direction in favour of something different entirely. jimslim wrote:The last episode reminded of me of 'Lost' and 'The X-Files'. Agreed, though it's already in the process of surpassing X-Files and heading straight for Lost. Let's hope any of this builds to some kind of satisfying conclusion at all...

Hehe... Yeah, this was a weird one... in the end it was more fantasy than sci-fi... WTF! I will tune in again for season 2.

Felt like this wasn't going anywhere after episode 7, and stopped watching. Was I right?

Did nobody stumble upon the season 2 trailer? Looks like the show became quite a bit more complex and expensive. Love it! Raised By Wolves Season 2 | Official Trailer | HBO Max https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6Kqm0qJ9Uc If you watch it, make sure to watch at least till 2:10 paisley1 wrote:Felt like this wasn't going anywhere after episode 7, and stopped watching.
