Topic: WHY!?

why did this get cancelled. i'll agree the 3rd season was a little slow, but i showed my gf this on tuesday, well we finished it last night. she was so hooked she didn't want to stop watching it, and i agreed, so many questions that could have been answered in another 2 seasons. atleast 1 more, but 2 so it wouldn't be rushed. the acting was top notch for a sci-fi, made it all seem real, plus had the drama of the characters lives, but they done it in such a way that the dramam was usually related to the sci-fi. like the original terminator, explaining the science and plot during a car chase.
should so be revisited for a tv movie atleast if not 2 more seasons.

Re: WHY!?

hey, thats not why, heroes season 2 survived that with shortened episodes, and not only was it pretty much a rip of 4400, it had 2 of the most anoying spanish characters in the history of television.

Re: WHY!?

You could ask that question for any amount of shows that have been cancelled.  I imagine it boils down to one thing alone - money.  If the networks aren't getting enough they move on to the next hopeful show to earn them dollars.  That's life.

You’ve got to help me! I’m a victim of society!

Re: WHY!?

hey ive moved on. it is just anoying. you lose these great shows, and usually for other shows that last only 1 season and nobody wants them on. i do think we need to get some next episode users on some networks, so they can keep good tv staying and bad tv going.

Re: WHY!?

it was an entertaining show...but good acting? c'mon, Joel Gretsch was the lead! The guy has no range of expression/emotion.

Writer and co-creator Scott Peters announced on December 18, 2007 that due to the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike, budgetary problems, and lower-than-anticipated ratings, The 4400 had been cancelled and would not be returning for a fifth season, despite the fourth season's cliff-hanger.

Four books have since been made based around the TV show, with the first two dealing with events happening in the second and third season, and the two newest books dealing with the aftermath of the season four cliff-hanger.

The show was originally only suppose to be a six episode mini series that was the first season, but do to high viewer ratings for the network at the time they decided to turn it in to a full on show.

Re: WHY!?

i liked the show also and would have loved to see more seasons from it, but i still think that it wasn't cliff-hanger but more like open ending.
