Topic: Day Break
Day Break
So far I haven't heard any body talking about this program. It has just started here in OZ on free to air HD. It reminded me of "Ground Hog Day without the comedy" meets "Déjà vu - the movie" and True calling as well. Wikipidia has 13 episodes listed. It could be a good one to look out for.

Re: Day Break
Hmm pardon, im working in reverse as usual. Did a search on n-e and found it to be cancelled after 6 eps Still want to know if it was any good. Since the three major commercial channels have gone HD. '10HD' must be using it as a filler program. I should have put this in my Lame Ass topic.

Re: Day Break
It's a pity the writters don't have contingency plans for when a show is prematurely ended. (like write a final episode first) The same could be said for long running series that don't end, just vanish into.... i.e. Lost in space the original (get'm HOME) "You bubble headed Boobie" The only show I can remember that did it was "Gilligans Island" with 2 movies they were crap of cause but at least they finished it off. For just 2 seasons 'Dark Angel' ended OK. I still felt ripped off tho

Re: Day Break
yeah, it got 'canned'... it was pretty demanding in the thunking departments, which apparently the the average tv watcher can't cope with... :S funny thing was, it got pulled after episode 7 of 13 in the US... episodes 5, 6 & 7 were admittedly a little slower than the kick out the jams attitude of the first 4 episodes.... but episode 8, when it finally did get 'out there' [webstream from ab's site], rocked... and it didn't let up til the end really... tragicly underappreciated show this one be.... where's the freaking DVD?????

The thing that was great about Day Break though is there wasn't really any room for a second series, least not with the same characters... so you went/go into it knowing that at the very least this story is going to see an end... other shows that have been sideswipe cancelled, but still had satisfactory endings: Wonderfalls, Dead Like Me & Angel all spring to mind...

Re: Day Break
@ Arashi: Possibly Déjà vu the movie was titled differently in your region of the world Déjà vu Or did you mean what link does 'Déjà vu' have with 'Day Break' if so probably the overall feel of the film, as in Action/Adventure and Thriller as apposed to 'Groundhog Day' Comedy/a tale of self-improvement.

and Firefly. So are you saying that Detective Brett Hopper gets to solve his "conundrum" (you don't have days like this by chance?) in the given 13 Episodes? If so yeah.

Re: Day Break
Cool... Well I managed to totally miss the 3rd episode of DB. The Australian Open Tennis has interrupted it for a few weeks now. And they keep changing the air time. 8:30 or 9:30 - Bastrados I wish they would make up there mind. A mate at work has offered to get the missing ep for me. I'm working on getting a bigger download limit ie (I keep blowing our pathetic 400Mb limit a month) in the hope my wife will agree to the 12G limit (next level up) Then perhaps I will be struggling to use it entirely by the months end. Until I suss out the internet download thingo. YES i'm a REAL novice. Are there any How-to sites out there - what to and what not to DO ???

Re: Day Break
@proteinnerd THATS my problem I don't. I panic at downloading a 14mb software update. SAD Just turning on the NET; Windows gets it's updates, the virus software does it's update then check your email and it's gone in the blink of an EYE. Face Book is responsible for a large usage. I would never go anywhere near '2nd Life' (on principle I wouldn't go there even with a good size limit).

Re: Day Break

Re: Day Break
I'm lucky that I have no limit, but we hit between 100GB and 200GB each month, dunno how I'm going to survive when we go to capped (we're on one of the last uncapped services)

Re: Day Break
which is how it should be... we just got switched over to dial up speed shaping [after 150gb and an extra 40$] last month and it's not pleasant at all... though i did find by setting the spare laptop up to reset the router every twenty minutes i managed to keep it going at full speed

Re: Day Break
What's with all these limits? I don't know anyone who has a limit on how much they can download.. just speed limit Is it that common with a mass limit?
