Re: Episodes 11 & 12
cool .. thanks for the heads up
Re: Episodes 11 & 12
episode 11 was quite fast paced.
but when i started watching it i remembered how i hate many characters on that show. the awful voice of Sophia and that puny lead dude.
Re: Episodes 11 & 12
episode 12 i did not like that much.
just to mention 1 thing.
they are in Alaska. outside. it's snowing and strong wind.
no ordinary human being can stand that more than few minutes. and yet that president's dude was out with only a shirt plus he was wounded and heavily beaten.
he was not even looking like he is frozen.
Re: Episodes 11 & 12
Almost forgot about this one, kinda expected it to be cancelled already.

Re: Episodes 11 & 12
Elias Martinez is officially the worst president ever. Not one he can't make any good decisions, but now we found out he's also a terrible liar. Someone please send him for a quick course to Charles Logan. I finished watching episode 11 and to tell you the truth I'm not that eager to watch episode 12. Too much crapiness for one night.
Re: Episodes 11 & 12
Can't really say there are any good characters at all. And the Big Secret doesnt feel like a big secret anymore. What could possibly be left to do.
Re: Episodes 11 & 12
I'm still confused as to what 'The Event' is, and maybe that's the point. The show seems kind of lost and confused as to what it wants to do, which is a problem for shows like this with a big cast. There's to many story-lines going on so all of them get lost in the process. That and I just don't care about any of them. The show would have been better off focusing on having only three story-lines going at once instead of the ten plus they have going now, since it doesn't leave time to do one story justice.
Re: Episodes 11 & 12
Alright here we go again.
The guide to create a fan based series (or so we think), made by stolen ideas:
a) Show hints of something completely mysterious (LOST)
b) state the obvious a couple of times (V)
c) in the first 2 episodes, add special effects (All of them)
d) put up many characters to keep the viewer busy (LOST / Heroes)
e) more mystery (LOST)
f) more characters
g) more cats (a cat is fine too)
h) low budget? remove effects
i) lower budget? get more mystery in it, ASAP
j) almost no budget? Uhmm uhmm create an uprising!
k) no budget? imply special effects (aka Heroes style)
l) no viewers? Reveal something mysterious
m) show gets canceled! WHY?
n) gather people to help you bring back the series (Flashforward)
o) people help you. announce nothing official
p) people ask questions. semi-announce a 2 hour movie about the remaining story
q) release dvd box set with extra 2 minutes material from the staff being high on salvia or w/e
r) tell people you got good news but not really
s) People say you suck.
t) your series is forever alone
u) you are forever alone
v) new series is up, way much better than yours
w) cry more to station to get more chances
x) cry more
y) leave project
z) make new sucky project
Re: Episodes 11 & 12
The Event returned from hiatus in worse ratings shape than when it left. Its 1.4 adults 18-49 rating was down 26 percent from the 1.9 rating for its previous episode in late November. Clearly a victory for “out of sight, out of mind’ over “absence makes the heart grow fonder.”
I'm amazed that folks @ NBC did not see that coming.

In a series with aliens and all sorts of other mystery stuff.... that is what you react to?
Re: Episodes 11 & 12
About the aliens thingie...
Why are the current shows about aliens always human(like) ? I mean, even Star Trek tried to be original with their many variations on the human forms but with subtle and not-so-subtle differences. I suspect a species from another galaxy to at least not be "just humans but they live longer". That's just gay and uninspired. OK the setting of The Event would make it difficult but next to some DNA changes that apparently are all "under the hood", it's just plain stupid. Even pigs and apes share 99% of our DNA, what the eff !
V isn't trying hard enough either with their apparently flawless human skin that covers and entire reptile including tail and massive amounts of sharp teeth, up until the point you'd start thinking how it would be impossible to hide even the smallest of flaws.
By the way, I found these episodes of the Event good because of two reasons: it revealed some good storyline because it finally got some momentum and the second reason: Shaun was almost left out completely in the episodes. He must be one of the most pathetic "hero's" I've ever seen. Sometimes you'd think these series started as a great idea, some idiot stepped in and try to manage everything without respecting the core values. Because no writer would ever cast the guy that currently plays Shaun.

did you read this?
Re: Episodes 11 & 12
I actually liked those two episodes. Despite all crap we finally seem to have what we were looking for.
The crappy hero is out - hopefully. But he may return for a greater purpose.
We know what The Event finally is - the arrival/invasion of the 4400 thousand (just guessing) others.
So actually seing two rival groups of aliens fight the final battle on earth could be kinda fun to watch. But I guess the show won't make it to season two, so let's hope for a nice CGI series finale.
