Topic: The approaching end of V is making me sad
Even though V really wasn't the most exciting and thrilling series one could imagine I am still already sad when I think about that we only have 3 episodes left and that's it. I really started to like all the characters in there. I also didn't mind that many times V felt like a daily soap opera with little action and a lot of repetitions like for example when the "5th columun" meets in this stinky, little backroom or whatever this is. I really wish V would somehow go on with more episodes and always new stuff happening. What shall I do after V? I have no replacements. And it's still a long time til Breaking Bad starts again. Or do you think V will be continued for a new season? But this would mean that the last episode has to have an open end. Do you think they already have shot the last episode or ar they still waiting for green lights for a new season and if there is no new season then they change the end of the last episode? Why do they not make more and faster episodes? 10 episodes is a joke. Other series run daily on TV and the producers also get it done.

Have you tried Fringe and Terminator The Sarah Connor Chronicles ? If you are looking for more compelling scifi series, they are pretty good at it.

Well, I didn't get attached to V that much, but it had/has it good moments. As for recommendations, have you tried older series like Earth: Final Conflict or Dark Skies?

Your watchlist would help.

Except for cable and UK shows. As for V, which is a midseason replacement, I think it was that ABC saw few episodes of S02 and they were like "My God good man! What crap! And why am I talking in a British accent?" so they cut the episode order, because they know that no one would watch it.

Re: The approaching end of V is making me sad
So this means that season 2 is definitely the last season? For me it's always like when a series ends then I feel like no other series can take it's place. I don't watch that much but what I enjoyed was: Prison Break, Breaking Bad, Flash Forward. I don't like series which don't have a continuing plot like x files where it's something different each time.

Also, Outcasts should be mentioned! I really do like it, and it just gets better and better with each episode. It new of course, so there are only six episodes out.

Won't outcasts just be an 8 episode mini series and that's it?

Not that I'm aware of! Doubt that they can wrap up the entire show in just two more episodes. It's always the issue of ratings though, so it might not make it. But I do hope so.

Re: The approaching end of V is making me sad
Thanks for the recommendations but I don't like Battlestar Galatica,Rome and Buffy. I already didnt like the old Battlestar Galactica. Band of Brothers is this 2. world war series right? That doesn't really interest me. I also cannot check out dozens of series without having a clue what they are about and wether I might like it. Prison Break and Breaking Bad were both recommended to me. I've never really discovered good series on my own.

@spanx you should try Friday Night Lights, it's brilliantly cast, awesome acting, good stories etc. It's about a high school football coach in a small town in Texas. But it's not a teenage drama show! Warmly recommend it. It just finished it's 5th season. Not sure if it is the last? Somebody knows? Boardwalk Empire is also a brilliant show about 1920 prohibition times in Atlantic city. First episode directed by MARTIN SCORSESE and sets the tone for the whole show. If you've missed Mad Men, you've been living under a rock About advertising men in 1960, set in Manhattan. Brilliant plots, amazing actors, gender roles all screwed up. Must see TV. If you're into music, TREME is a must. Set in New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. There's a few for you, hope you enjoy!

I Second this recommendation! But yes, unfortunately season 5 was the last season, so this show is officially over... too bad though, was really one of my favorite shows...

I also liked The Walking Dead. Are there any series which are kinda like V or TWD or Flash Forward and have a continuing plot and not something different each time like Fringe?

Re: The approaching end of V is making me sad
Lost is about people on an island and aliens right? A friend of me watches this but what he told me about it did not really sound interesting. I don't know if that's something for me. It also has a lot of seasons already. I'll look into "The Event".

Aliens? That's a bit off.. But it is about a plane crashing on an island where mysterious things happen! I recommend it, and it hasn't got THAT many season. Only six

6 seasons is quite much. How and where do you guys watch all those series? Do you buy the dvds? Btw, "The Event" looks very promising. Aliens + conspiracies are exactly my thing.

Isn't this a bit risky? Afaik torrent is very unsafe because the IPs of all leechers are directly visible.

Re: The approaching end of V is making me sad
I visit quite a few forums and other discussion groups and yes, imo, imho and afaik are all VERY popular. The one I cannot stand - and I mean bigtime cannot stand - is FTW. I mean, I've never even heard "for the win" actual spoken out loud by ANYONE EVER. I hate it! It doesn't even make sense when people use it. Argh! It's winding me up just thinking about it.
2020. Meh.
