Re: Spartacus: Gods of the Arena

Two great episodes so far. This episode seemed to be at a more normal pace and that made it more enjoyable.

Cant believe we have two of the hottest women on tv playing around naked two episodes in a row.

Re: Spartacus: Gods of the Arena

The director of Part II went artsy-fartsy, I like it. smile

Re: Spartacus: Gods of the Arena

very nice, to be honest this prequel should go on and be the next series, i'm not sure season 2 of Spartacus can top this

Re: Spartacus: Gods of the Arena

since there are no sci-fi shows available atm this is the best show for me.

Re: Spartacus: Gods of the Arena

They have some episodes left where a lot of people needs to die. The father should be among them. I wanted him dead too but they need to end with the beginning of blood and sand so they need characters in place to make sure not everything goes smooth.

I didnt think episode 3 was as good as the other two before it but they cant all be perfect.

I was surprised that Batialus left his father alive at the end of Part III, but as he's still becoming the ruthless social climber that he was in season 1, it's understandable.

the problem with series based on historical events, is that unless you want a soap opera out of it, one really can't continue making seasons.
at one point Spartacus and his army will be crucified so i really can't see much future there tongue

Series finale, this is a prequel, not a second season of Blood & Sand.

Some history facts and speculation below, so anyone who wants to watch the rest of Spartacus series ignorant cover your eyes big_smile :

Spartacus crucified? I only have wiki as source but I believe he didn't get crucified along with the rebel slaves, or at least, his fate was unknown it was said(though he is believed by some to have fallen in battle), so they can play it out with him alive at the end, but I don't think that would be a desirable outcome of the series, personally. I'd like to see him die in battle, I mean how else shall it end, with him watching his fellow slaves get crucified and turning his back on them to live his own life?

Anyway though the rebel slaves obviously didn't win the war, they did win a few sizable battles, I think the series have great potential for another full season if they play their cards right.

Orlando, I know. I just tend to think of it as the same series smile

Re: Spartacus: Gods of the Arena

well i have not really read the whole story of Spartacus but i know most of his army that survived the last battle (and did not get lucky enough to flee) were crucified. quite possibly Spartacus himself got killed in the last battle.

Re: Spartacus: Gods of the Arena

Great prequel series.  loved it.
They tied up all the loose ends very well, and not just covered it all up in the last five minutes.
Very good indeed.

Re: Spartacus: Gods of the Arena

Yeah. Crixus will seek him out or something probably. I think it's time to brace for some more epic. What an excellent franchise this is turning out to be. I will miss John Hannah as Batiatus though.

Re: Spartacus: Gods of the Arena

well it's time for them to focus on Spartacus on his fight.
plenty of backstory now given.
