Alright, you've read the "news", tell me what you think about http://beta.next-episode.net. What do you like about it? And what not? Do you have ideas on how to improve upon it? Gimme your thoughts, let's beautify this site a little!

The font looks kinda... ygh. And what about the "stuff to watch", "browse" or "calendar" section?

To be honest, it only needs a few little tweaks here and there, not a full redesign.
Here are my thoughts... Good...
Making it slightly wider is good - maybe a little more. Bad...
Too much white. It makes it look like there is no division between the three columns.
Please, don't use that font.! Suggestions...
Maybe have a collapsible div for the "Inactive shows" to make the page shorter (collapse by default)
Remove "recent polls", "fun" and "next flick" and replace with a "submit new show" link

Indeed this has to be a setting to settle this once and for all. The current thing "(Season: 1 Episode: 1)" is fugly, I also hate "(S01E01)", but " - 1x01 - " is pure awesomeness  Besides that I like the slightly bigger font but the font of the headlines ("Today's TV Episodes") doesn't match. The watchlist and calendar culumn should both be wide enough to fit titles like "Spartacus: Gods of the Arena (1)" and "Star Wars: The Clone Wars (1)" without wordwrap - we are in 2011 - there should be no screens (besides smartphones) that don't have a widescreen display. The gray bg for "Past" and "Future" doesn't fit with the blueorangeish design of the rest. And somehow I miss the 3D blue borders at the left and right sides. On the other had I would like a small design difference between the big middle coulmn and the two side columns. Those are my first thoughts - right now the redesign really looks like beta  Anyway - thumbs up for your work you've done so far santah!

Make episode numbering consistent between columns. I would prefer SSxEE (1x12) format Make width of the left and right columns configurable and allow to display shows in both in one line as in the middle column

S01E01
1x01
Season: 1 Episode: 1

Well 4:3 is fine if you have a 1600x1200 resultion. But if you are on 1024x768 - grow a pair and go to the next interweb shop and get a new screen!

That sounds cool, so why not using at least a relative layout with max/min values for tiny or huge displays. The rest should be liquid

It's just a bit too white...
Maybe have the Top Shows/Future episodes columns on the sides a different colour background, blue again? I agree with everyone else, make the site wider, ~5% wider isn't really very much...

The white background lacks definition with the display elements, and is overall way too bright. For the width, every site should work in 1024 width. Whilst most desktops weigh in with ungodly resolutions, remember there are tablets and notebooks out there too.

just my first thoughts upon first glance: too much white and white'ish background. I prefer to have blue columns left and right... it makes for better distinction between stuff... Also, I use s01e01 for my shows... I just don't change it from the way i get them... Maybe make it Optional for people to choose what they want?! Else, i'm okay with it for now... I'll look closer when I get home
