Topic: Burn Notice - The Fall of Sam Axe
From Wikipedia
A prequel movie based on Sam Axe set before the events of Burn Notice is planned for production, according to an interview with Matt Nix at the 2010 San Diego Comic-Con on July 22, 2010. The movie, also to be broadcast on USA, will tell the story of Sam's days in the Navy SEALs before he met Michael. Jeffrey Donovan will direct the movie
Apparently, according to Bruce Campbell, you have to watch the movie (set to broadcast in the spring of 2011) before watching season 5 to get the story arc of the season. From EW.com
▼Spoiler “[Sam] sees some events go down that change the initial plan, and he takes matters into his own hands at great risk to himself and others with a small group of misfits to try to right a bad situation,” Campbell said. “It’s a David and Goliath thing.” The Jeffrey Donovan-directed movie, which Campbell says will introduce us to the “mature side of Sam” via an emotion-heavy mission, is scheduled to air in spring before the start of Burn Notice‘s fifth season. “[People] should watch it because that’s the only way they’re going to get the whole [season 5] story,” Campbell said. “There is possibly a character and story elements that will linger forward — and not in a good way. Something from Sam’s past might come back to haunt him.” You know spies...

Re: Burn Notice - The Fall of Sam Axe
I'm looking forward to it, but I'm not having high expectations. I don't know if it's the lack of acting in Bruce Campbell or the bad dialogue writing but his character seems very unrealistic from time to time as though he isn't taking the role seriously. Like Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones 4. I hope with this movie centering around him, he goes beyond the mediocre role and let Sam Ax be a good character and Bruce Campbell a good actor.

Re: Burn Notice - The Fall of Sam Axe
Fine have a spin-off movie about one of the characters, but don't make it a f***ing pre-requisite for watching the next season. I so hate that. Babylon 5 was like that (but much worse), it's so annoying.

Re: Burn Notice - The Fall of Sam Axe
TV.com calls it : The Fall of Sam Axe . Some info : Directed By Jeffrey Donovan Starring : Bruce Campbell as Lt. Cmdr. Sam Axe Chandra West as Donna, a "sexy and fun" woman who's the love interest for a then-Lt. Cmdr. Sam Axe (Campbell). RonReaco Lee as Dr. Ben Delaney, who runs a nonprofit clinic in Colombia and ends up afoul of terrorists John Diehl as Admiral Lawrence, Sam's "no-nonsense" Naval boss who will "stop at nothing" to figure out what's going on in Colombia. Kiele Sanchez An as yet unnamed humanitarian running a food relief effort with a distrust of soldiers.

Yes, I watch Burn notice too, but I don't want to watch some crap movie, just so that I can continue to watch it. That the issue.

I too want to think it's not, but you know it will be. Be honest, Burn Notice has slipped in its appeal and is not as good as it once was. This movie will just follow on from that. I don't want to sound negative, it just is

Re: Burn Notice - The Fall of Sam Axe
I don't mind the movie, but I'm afraid that Jeffrey Donovan will direct it, mostly becuase up till now he directed only one TV episode (of Burn Notice). Didn't they have enough cash to hire someone for the job?

That's how I am facing it. Like a sort of OVA/season premiere special. It would really be awful if it was a theatre release, but since its a TV Movie, the "special" vibe can be mantained. I will watch it with the same open mind and forgiving eyes I watch Doctor Who's Christmass Specials.

Re: Burn Notice - The Fall of Sam Axe
Should be fun, but is it just me or does the background look really cheap in some scenes? I know that's how most TV shows are shot right now (computer generated surroundings), but still... 0:21-0:18 is a good example.

True but unless you have HBO or Showtime or which ever channel it airs on you can't really watch it live while USA Network is on cable which I do have --- Edit:Just finished it was nice movie to get prepared for the new season. Micheal with a beard looked funny and I like the chick who was in this and also plays in The Glades. I think the last 5mins will have something to do with the current season if I remember what I read awhile back.

Hehe - he did - and man - what a saw it was. Nice reference The movie was nice and the setting reminded me of "24: Redemption". It was a nice double episode with medium production value. And if you like BC in BN you like hin in this - he's perfectly in character. And I like the ending - it explaines perfectly why he is so nicely dressed in BN and Miami I don't see any reason not to watch this before season 5 starts Plus you get a small glimpse of Michael as you've never seen him before
