Re: 1x05 - Wildfire
Well, I think it is better than expected and I'm not trying to do a better job than the writers are doing because I can't. I'll leave it the way it is, the show has it's charm. If every show was identically complex, they all would be predictable.

Re: 1x05 - Wildfire
This I didn't expect. The TV series are starting to ignore the comics entirely, adding only single scenes from the original. Can't decide if this is good or bad. Decent episode, although one thing didn't stick - the guy from CDC laments that he has to remain underground and can't tell whether it's day or night and few minutes later he opens the gate leading outside and has cameras. Edit: I also didn't get why were they using so many vehicles... I mean, I understand not using only the RV, because it's old and breaks down a lot, but all those trucks and jeeps use a lot of gas. And there aren't that many survivors in the group left.

No, not THEY. (it's a rather big spoiler) And in case you're wondering, in the comics they didn't take any trips to find the CDC. Instead they started moving south to find a safe place before the cold winter (I can't remember exactly right now, but as far as I know the comics started in late autumn, not in the summer).

Re: 1x05 - Wildfire
Well, yeah, but I also take pleasure from watching scenes based on the comics (like the recent attack on the camp) and I don't mind knowing how it's going to play out and who's gonna die (Amy's death was a real bummer, because she was a cutie).

This episode was a bit of a filler. I will keep watching it's still huge potential for interesting stuff to happen!

Re: 1x05 - Wildfire
Well, since he had to correct the scripts by himself, the original ones must've been bad. Oh well, it's his show. *goes and sends his scripts to Frankie ^__^*

Scientist usually lose track of day and night atleast the ones I know. It also seems like it's sensors activating it probably to conserve power but it's a valid point but still it's fiction!

I work in a big electronics store with no windows and mostly I also have no idea how it looks outside. If you live 50 hours a week between those walls, it is pretty creepy and I understand the guy. xrnzaaas wrote:Edit: I also didn't get why were they using so many vehicles... Americans and gas mileage, it's not really there yet for all of them. But I guess it's also that they want as much of their stuff with them.

Re: 1x05 - Wildfire
I like the way the tone changed in the forums. It's like I predicted it Nothing special to say about this episode - the camp was so boring that the only thing they could do (to raise viewer attention) was leaving. The only thing I liked was the CDC guy. Nice scenes - like the Desmond introduction in Lost Now with this kinda cliffhanger it's the first time I like to see the next episode

Re: 1x05 - Wildfire
I don't get why everyone is bashing this show. I think it's really good and has been since the beginning. I was hooked from the first episode. I just love the feel of the world. Now, I haven't read the comics and that might be a big part why I can just sit back and enjoy the show without having to compare it to anything that I already love. It's very strange to see such a negative thread on N-E. I don't think there has been one quite like it since the Teyla-thread. And it's even stranger to find oneself on the unpopular side seeing as most of the time I tend to agree with a lot of the posters here. Well, I guess you are all entitled to you wrong opinions..

Re: 1x05 - Wildfire
I just want to throw in my two cents here I guess I should start off by saying that I like this show alot, but I also agree with alot of the comments here. First of all about the tanks: I've driven many different vehicles, and all the ones that run on tracks have VERY easy controls. Basically there's one forward/backward pedal for each track, and you control it like you would row a boat. If you want to steer left, you throttle the right track and slow the left one, if you want to turn on the spot, you run them in opposite directions. I find it very hard to believe that they would make that more complicated then it needs to be. Of course you have the cannon tower wich would need separate controls, but still I'm pretty confident that if I found myself inside a tank with 200 zombies outside, I'd be able to drive that tank within an hour. Of course, this is only guesswork, but you see my point. Second, zombies aren't people. They've died, risen from the dead and they want to eat your brain. You'd have to be quite the wuss to think twice about killing them, since the fact that they've already died pretty much eliminates the possibility of a cure saving them. This is assuming a real-world situation based on the show, I know it's fiction but I like my fiction believable. You can make a science fiction story without twisting the laws of physics, or at least find "logical" explanations to the twists. On a related note, I get the black guy not wanting to shoot his wife. At least he's not lying on top of her like a moron. In situations where you lose loved ones, you often do irrasional stuff. I know I've been in situations that I can look back on and not have a clue why i did what I did.

Re: 1x05 - Wildfire
i enjoy it too, some situations they could have done better and more scary but actually i'm glad it's not too scary so that i can watch it in the dark too
