Re: 2x07 - The Greater Good
Yep, great episode. I really prefer Universe than the SG1 and SGA. No doubt about that.
Now we know why the Destiny is crossing the galaxies, it's going after who/what created the universe (well, I'd like to meet those guys too). It was surprising, I didn't think this would be revealed so soon! I was captivated though.
The decision to send Rush and Young to the little ship wasn't plausible at all. Really? The leader of the crew and the genius scientist who always saves the day? That was the dumbest move ever and I found that particularly hard to believe.
It was funny to watch them (briefly) "play" with all the wonders Rush was keeping to himself: "Colonel, we've got an opportunity ahead. Several planets in range.".
About the cliffhanger, I wonder something and I can't remember if they ever mention it before. What happen if two people use the stones and one of them die? Is the other one stuck in his temporary body or does he come back instantly in his own body (and dead by the same occasion)?
About the T-Bag visiting the girl, I fear that he just want to shut her mouth so I really concerned about her. It seems even too obvious.
Last thing, even though I liked this episode, I found it too much predictable.
Cheers

huh??
O'Neil and Daniel Jackson.... Shepard and McKay...
Don't you see the "theme" here??

In the episode "Earth", Eli asks Young the same thing and he answers that they "most likely die too"
It's the episode where Young, Eli and Chloe visits Earth and Telford and two scientists tries to dial the gate inside a star.

Those were part of a team and going off world or on space ship was their job. Young and Rush have to stay alive to bring people home. The people on the Destiny are not an exploration team, they are survivors. The rules of the SG-1 and SGA team don't apply here. Well, that how I see things at least.

I didn't remember that. Thanks! So, it remains unclear, just some guess.

your point is ok, but still survival and getting people home means the same thing. true leader is always on the head of the pack.

Re: 2x07 - The Greater Good
I understand that it's a show and of course I see the theme. Those couples are the two main characters of those shows. I just didn't find that particular choice credible if we were "in the real life" (where we were not, I agree)

I agree 100%, you wouldn't send your ships commander and your top scientist first into a derelict ship. You would send an advanced scout team first to make sure its clear....do they only have 2 space suits now? Is they why they didn't even have 1 guard with them?

Yes, seems like it.
But I remember now that in "Subversion, Telford says to Young "You're bluffing, kill me and you kill Rush" when he's holding Telford in the cell.

Oh yes! That I remember now. Maybe we'll know for sure next week.

On that I can agree...
and i do beleave this thanks due to a slow start. you really get to know the characters.

well, i would send the top scientist first, and that has been usually the case in Stargåte. not sure about sending the commander of the expedition anywhere, but this is a tradition formed in the 60's by Cpt. James T. Kirk and Young is a tough dude - maybe a lvl 15 Fighter
... The people on the Destiny are not an exploration team, they are survivors. The rules of the SG-1 and SGA team don't apply here. Well, that how I see things at least.
well sg-1 maybe, but in the case of sga. Commander of the expedition was always (almost) running around almost getting killed
Re: 2x07 - The Greater Good
imho SGU is slowly turning to be the best show this year alongside with Boardwalk Empire...
Truth!
A very good episode, interesting goal of Destiny, but please, please! Dont let simeon rape/kill the beautiful redhead(Ginn)!
Re: 2x07 - The Greater Good
T-bag seems to always only play roles where he is some sleazy ass rammer.....
That being said I always despise him on every show he's been on.
Re: 2x07 - The Greater Good
If T-bag kills that woman I might have to stop watching this.
It's true that most people don't like him, but that would be a crappy move on the part of the writers.
We'll have to wait until next week.

i know Ginn is hot, but unfortunately she is not lead actress, so writers can take this move of killing her.

MAN, that would suck. . . What happens when someone dies in someone else's body? Gin's consciousness could get trapped in the sickly body.
If she does die, poor Eli. . . he was just starting to get some.
Re: 2x07 - The Greater Good
I wonder if they will do some mambo jambo to get Amanda Perry permanently on the ship... it would be in red hot's body, but they use the original body all the time to show us who it is. Perhaps they want Kathleen Munroe to become a regular.
Man, I would hate it if they did that... not that I mind Kathleen Munroe, but it would just be so wrong...
