well. like we have not had same kinda episodes already in SG-1 and SGA. now we have one here. maybe slightly better than the SGA one, but not the best episode this season.

Re: 2x05 - CloverdaleI thought this was an awful episode. I liked the SG-1 episodes with the same basic ideas behind them but i thought the story in this episode was so bad. The only exciting time was when Chloe went off and there was a very slim hope of her maybe dying. Oh well maybe next time. Re: 2x05 - CloverdaleLike the ep. I think the cityname and some signs have some meaning, they where far too long in focus. (anybody good at anagrams?) Its starting to get back to its roots. they have a good mix, still the humor of the previous "stargates" gave this traditional series format a feeling of awesome. SGU needs to have this too (doesnt take itself so serious at points, allow the logic to fail for the sake of the plot and effects and one character points it then later out...) eli is good but well not good enough yet. Still SGU has a now a weekly timeslot in my schedule. Re: 2x05 - Cloverdaledrizzel wrote:
oh please. keep dissing sgu for being too different and when they make an episode witch is excatly like sg1, you say it was too much like sg1... make up you bloody mind... if this episode replaced the one with teal'c as a fireman you would hail it the best ep ever... are you one of those who just have have a different opinion even tho you'd agree... this was definetly not a strong ep. story didn't move forward, and it seemed to be one of those that you can put your brain on a shelf and drool for 45 min... which i dont like. what doesn't kill you - hurts even more...

actually sgu was alway on its roots. sgu is back to roots show. sg1 was originally supposed to be more serious like the original film, but R.D. Andersson wanted a humorous side to the show, so they went along with it... what doesn't kill you - hurts even more...

Nice to meet you guys and sorry for my basic English, it's not my mother tongue. I think it wasn't such a bad episode. in my opinion, it's 50/50. I really didn't like the "mental part" (and I usually hate that kind of stories) even if I also think that there were some meaning among it. Plus, it seems to me that the nature of some relations was concordant: Young seems to consider Scott like his son, Greer and Scott are like best friends on the Destiny, Eli is like a brother to Chloe even if he'd really want to be more (you know, that "I just want to be friends" sentence we all hate to hear), etc. It was still boring to watch. On the opposite, I really liked the "reality part". I wonder what is Chloe condition (of course). Is Scott's the same now that he was transfused with her blood ? Maybe he just healed but wasn't "infected" by whatsoever or maybe his condition will be different. About the show, Greer is by far my favorite character. What a style! I liked that SG-1 feeling in this episode but I really prefer the mature and darker side of Universe (my feeling of the show). I just want them to progress in their "encounters". Your english is very good and your analysis is around the lines I was thinking. Welcome to the forum! Re: 2x05 - Cloverdalesaturo wrote:

+1 It was entertaining enough. While I enjoyed it it just highlighted the flaw at the very core of the show for me. Did anyone think for even 1 second that Scott and Chloe would be left behind and die? Its the same with every series that they aren't just going to kill off the major characters in a random episode but to me SGU keeps trying too hard to say - we are lost and could die any moment, when you know they wont. Maybe its just me. Anyway the second series has been better than the first so far but we do need more gratuitous shower scenes with Lt Boobs, the Dr and the red hair Lucian imo Re: 2x05 - CloverdaleHr. I think you are mistaking me for someone else and i would appreciate an apology. Especially since you seem to agree with me that it was a very weak episode. On another note something i was disappointed with was that as it was all Scotts dream the things in the dream should relate to him and how he see things. At the start that had me excited cause it could be used to give info on his mind and how it might differ from what they have been showing in previous episodes on how the other crew members relate. I got the feeling it was more general though. The only scene i felt was really about Scott was when he was drunk and Eli was taping him hitting on the waitress that he used to have relation with before they went to Destiny. Maybe they went a more subtle way and that some of the differences will show up later. Either way the story of the episode was way to weak and it is the first episode this season that i didnt like. well, i stand corrected, sry. to put it simply. this episode was nothing new. we've seen this already. what doesn't kill you - hurts even more...

Well, thank you guys. It's nice to find some place where I can't talk about a show I particularely like (especially since the second half of the first season). saturo wrote:

Exactelly! It's (for me) a real seizure with SG-1 or SGA and I have to say, that's what I love the show. Re: 2x05 - Cloverdalecordesh wrote:
you watch only 1 show? why not comment on some other shows? and welcome here. Re: 2x05 - Cloverdalecordesh wrote:
yes yes. and welcome to the forum what doesn't kill you - hurts even more...
Re: 2x05 - CloverdaleWell I also think this episode was boring as hell - I don't like the SG style where there is no explanation what happened in the beginning and with a too quick solution at the end. And in between we have a "mental" part which is mostly boring. The only interesting thing was the Chloe situation, but that could've been done in 5 minutes during an awesome episodes. meh But a warm welcome to all new forum members Posts: 24Forums - Next Episode → Stargate Universe → 2x05 - Cloverdale |
