Topic: 2x02 - Aftermath

They killed Reilly! Except for Eli, he was the only actually likeable character on this show.
Are they TRYING to get people to stop watching it? If they are, it's working. I'm going to give it another chance next week, but they are going to have to pick it up considerably, or I'm out.

It's a Stargate series and with yet unknown aliens , he can still be back or something...

Re: 2x02 - Aftermath

I really like the start of this season. Even if Eli havent had that much camera time it has still been pretty good. The only part i dont like is the doctor and her baby story.

It was cruel that just before they end the episode they say: "we are about to find out"

Now we have to wait a week to find out

I agree with you... except that I don't mind to see less of Eli... he's starting to bug me a bit...

Eli is magical! I mean how can he still stay fat on a star ship with limited supplies?! Did he pack 10kg of snickers in his back pocket or something?

ye, but that cheap sort of plastic look has already been done. it's good that scifi has some seriousness to it nowadays.

and yes it is stargate. this "too real" look is actually bringing it more to its roots seen in the original movie... or something or something...

Re: 2x02 - Aftermath

well this BSG style darkness is actually old and tiredsome. they need to lighten up and go back to roots imo. SG-1 style or something.

I think it's already too late for that, especially since SGU lost a lot of viewers since the start (last episode was seen by ~1mln people and the final season of SG:A had more than 1.5 mln viewers each week). What I think they should do is discover the tenth chevron and make a proper new series. wink

Re: 2x02 - Aftermath

Just be done with it and call it Stargate: Galactica.

The only thing that could save it now would be to make the alien enemy Cyclons anyway.

That or as Godzi said, get lieutenant boobs and hot red head lucian in a steamy affair, or at least a pillow fight in panties....

mmmmm zero G, lingerie, pillow fight = win

Re: 2x02 - Aftermath

Heh, if nothing else I have to give props to this show for managing to piss off both groups of people: it's way too "real" and dark for all the Stargate fans and it contains too much of what I call "sci-fantasy" for all the BSG and hardcore sci-fi fans. Way to go SG-U!

I agree the show should pick a genre a stick to it, but anyone hoping it's going to be more like SG-1 is delusional. SG-U is nothing more than an attempt to cash in on the BSG fanbase while dragging the poor Stargate fans into it as well. You cannot realistically expect to balance "fluffy, benevolent aliens that save babies" one episode and forced euthanasia due to dire circumstances the next. Every time they try to ram SG-1-like story elements into it, the whole concept breaks horribly. And their choices over the past season have shown that they will go only deeper into the dark territory and farther away from SG-1.

Which I wholeheartedly approve of. If you're hoping for a SG-1-like sci-fantasy resurgence, do yourself and us a favor and stop watching now smile
