201 was good.

After Fringe #1, and Eureka #2, Stargate gets a solid #3 for the top three scifi's of 2010. (No Ordinary Family is fantasy fiction)

#1 SGU #2 Caprica #3Fringe

i'd say they are the top 3 scifi series of 2010

I'm not sure what it is but I *really * love Stargate U. It's about the only show that I absolutely have to watch as soon as I can. Maybe because it's kind of "gritty"" real" sci-fi like BSG started out as.

Not much to choose from anyway, but the production value of FRINGE is superb (8/10), and just makes Eureka, Warehouse 13, and SGU (5/10's) look terrible in comparison.  I suppose if you like the storylines better, than hell, Days of our Lives could be your favorite scifi....I've never watched DAYS, but I'm assuming someone along the line has gone back in time.   big_smile

caprica rulez. its good drama and good scifi... and if you want to look at the production values; caprica blows fringe out of the water....

and i am sorry for you all who don't understand good drama. Yes i know, it need brains, and not all of you have one, so i forgive you...

PS. SGU does not look terrible. it looks just like it should (10/10)

PPS. i do have to make a change for my best scifi of 2010 list after watching season premiere of fringe

1. SGU
2. Caprica
3. Clone Wars

having the number of episodes i've seen of days of our lives ammount to almoust as much as i've saved the world from giant laser spitting reptile monsters rampaging city to city,i can confirm that days is indeed one of the biggest sci-fi shows of our generation cool sgu is not!
oh,and question to Hr:why isn't no ordinary family sci-fi?(can't believe i'm jumping in that crapy shows defense lol )

in Rand McNally, people wear hats on their feet and hamburgers eat people

HR, your conclusions are unsubstantiated, so explain why one is better than the other to help the 5 of us who are seeing the exact opposite.  "Good drama" is in the eye of the beholder so help us see what you are seeing.

Kalapkaki, No Ordinary Family is speculative fiction but isn't science fiction or sci-fi but rather, the other subgenre of speculative fiction called fantasy fiction.  Although there is overlap, shows like Smallville, Heroes, Supernatural, True Blood, and now, No Ordinary Family fall into a genre closer to "Fantasy Fiction" and not "Science Fiction" as sci-fi is sciency like Star Trek, Stargate, Sliders, Quantum Leap, and BSG, where the science is at the forefront of the narrative and not behind the narrative and unexplained.  LOST is unclearly both and would just fall into, Speculative??

To Reiterate:
Fantasy Fiction = Marvel and DC comics superheroes, LOTR's, etc (fall into a puddle of goo and come out awesome storylines)
Science Fiction = Star Trek, Stargate, Quantum Leap. (reverse the polarity and long range sensor storylines)
Speculative Fiction = All of the above

Make sense?

not really
so anything in space is sci-fi?anything not involving theoretical physics is fantasy?sorry but "science" isn't just physics.marvel and dc universe heroes most of the time have some outrageous explanation, usualy mutation, for why they are as they are as opposed to LOTR which is just magic.i don't know,i may be wrong but that's where the line is drawn for me between fantasy fiction and science fiction.if the basis is something rare or even theoretical from the world of science it's science-fiction,if it's magic then it's fantasy,if it's both then the 2h finale is going to suck wink
here's how i see it:
no ordinary family, heroes, fringe, every show in space - sci-fi
merlin,the gates,true blood,twighlight,LOTR,WOW - fantasy

in Rand McNally, people wear hats on their feet and hamburgers eat people
