Topic: 2x01 - Intervention (3)
Even though I've been a little disappointed with the first season, I find myself very eager right now. I can hardly wait the hours that are left until season 2 starts! Stargate really has a spell over me...

Bah. In my happy little world, I had forgot all about this poor excuse for a Stargate series. And you just had to remind me.

Re: 2x01 - Intervention (3)
come on , the animation is bad , the storyline is weak , if it was any good it wouldn't have been canceled... and yes ,it's STARGATE!!! and what I meant was that true Stargate fans don't quit when it's not all best , they wait and know things will be better

Re: 2x01 - Intervention (3)
Interesting solution to the whole baby-issue.... and by showing us the space cloud in the end, they confirmed that it was not just a dream I like it! I would however like to see more light in this show.... more Atlantis environments and less BSG.

Re: 2x01 - Intervention (3)
I liked the first ep - although I almost had forgotten everything about the season one cliffhanger. It's a nice turnaround to the crew. They have now a fresh couple of people to blend in. Too bad Rhonda Mitra had to go - but she has other duties now The baby thingy was nicely dealt with. A baby on board would've been wrong on many levels. And TJ dealing with a lost baby would've been also sad. This solution - if it's real or not - is a nice solution and we have the old TJ back I think they improved the set of Destiny alot - it felt more realistic than in season one. If they really have more budget to blow that could mean some nice space CGI in the future

Re: 2x01 - Intervention (3)
okay, what was the last song of the show? i think i fell in love with it. nvm: googled that shit. one thing to say about this show is that it has by far the best soundtrack i've ever heard in a show.

Re: 2x01 - Intervention (3)
I've had enough of this show now. Sorry to pee on your parade. Every single episode ends with some song and 3 minutes of showing peoples faces and the emotions they mimic. It's getting really, really old. ▼Spoiler Last season ended with 3 big cliffhangers. They just went on like nothing happened. The leg stopped bleeding by itself with no explanation, the two guys on deck (too angry to remember names) had no problem surviving and it apparently took the soldiers ordered to kill colonel young and his crew a long time to understand what they were being told, and thus the order was never executed 'cos some guy came running in and said don't do it. What a lame way to just piss on the season finale and get to start fresh. And Greer actually said "Everyone's O.K." to let all the viewers know they had been screwed over. Was pretty tiltalizing to hear that sentence 5 minutes into the episode. Then the episode goes as it usually does, with random drama and small action sequences, while Johansen has a vivid dream. Then she gets to see the same gas cloud/whatever and she's suddenly OK with her baby dying. Why throw (even the idea of) a good, supernatural force into the show? Calling it/them aliens doesn't help. There's just too little real story, too bad of a script, too much of "lets end it with a song, it'll say more" and too few interesting characters. Guess I'll watch SG-1 a fifth time, or even SG-A a third. With all it's flaws (especially one particular lady that shall remain nameless) it was still a Stargate series without all the lovetriangles and whining (again, one lady shall remain excluded and nameless).

Oh cmon please stop comparing this series to Atlantis or SG-1. We all agreed that Universe is a little different. There are people who are interested in watching this kind of Stargate And if you don't like it don't watch it

Wasn't that the whole point, so to leave us guessing why? If a TV show explained everything there would be little point to it in the first place. ▼Spoiler I think the aliens did something to her to make her heal that quickly. Or maybe she's a clone or something...

The space cloud thing reminded me of the gaseous beings from Star Trek. I would LOVE to see it morph into something more stargate-y, but I guess it's okay. . .

Re: 2x01 - Intervention (3)
Stargate series have a history of improving throught the first 3 years in order to mature. I sometimes feel the writers throw themselves an idea like "oh, oh, I know, Atlantis is in another Galaxy!" and then another guy goes "yes yes yes, and and, there are enemies even more evil than the Goaul'd" and a third guy goes "more evil, more evil, more evil ... I got it, they feed on humans, so you can't really reason with them", then they all start laughing, drinking and agreeing with how much they are clever, then take a bag full of random character types and dadaistically start throwing characters into the scenario they just created. They then write a biut, air the show and THEN star trimming the edges that don't work. Should be crap. VBuyt they do it right and if the network is not stupid to abort it too soon, they succeed in doing something that is usually very good and sometimes even truly excellent.

Re: 2x01 - Intervention (3)
SGU's "problem" is that it is mainly being written by 4 guys. who previously wrote SG-1 and SGA. and during the old series they were not all involved in all the series. in SGU they all seem to be involved in every episode. so let's blame those four guys: Robert C. Cooper Brad Wright Joseph Mallozzi Paul Mullie
