Topic: What is Sookie Stackhouse? (spoilers)
So is she a water nymph or what? The most recent episode seemed to be pushing that pretty hard with the dancing in white dresses and the glowing water. As much as I love Greek mythology, I'm kind of hoping it's something more surprising than that. Especially after Eric's reaction. Any thoughts?

I don't know if she's a water nymph but her blood made Bill tolerate direct sunlight for a few seconds... I was wondering why back in the Hospital they didn't think of checking Jason's blood - something freaky will go on with him sometime in the future...

Re: What is Sookie Stackhouse? (spoilers)
I think it could be a cool twist to Jason's story if he started to exhibit supernatural characteristics, but I wouldn't bet on it. I think they implied that he's a normal human when they let out that he has normal blood. How the whole heredity implications and the fact that some in the family tree are special and others aren't fits with something like Sookie being a Naiad, I don't know. I guess one could assume that having a god as a great great great grandfather or w/e could mean that some descendants get more supernatural powers while others get less or even none. I just hope they answer the question before it gets dragged out to long. I fear they take it to a point where she could end up being the second coming of Jesus Christ and us viewers go, "Oh, is that all?"

Re: What is Sookie Stackhouse? (spoilers)
Definite spoilers, don't read if you don't want to know: Now they might do that differently for the TV show, but that's the explanation in the books (albeit she never did the glowy hands thing in the books.) ▼Spoiler It's also why vampires find her so attractive, fairy blood has an intoxicating effect on vampires, so even however far-removed Sookie's is, it smells and tastes delicious to them. Pure fairy blood drives them into a frenzy - kinda like what V does to humans. At any rate, given we've seen Claudine, I'd guess we'll also be seeing Claude fairly soon, and with that should come a proper explanation

Re: What is Sookie Stackhouse? (spoilers)
Just as Kal wrote. However the books and the series start to differ more and more. Huge spoilers below:
▼Spoiler In the books fairy blood didn't make vampires immune to sunlight. It was just irresistible. And Jason is also part-fairy but his "talent" was sexual appeal that attracted so many women - a trait that all fairies had. But later on he became something more supernatural because of Crystal. Claudine and Claud are fairy-cousins of Stackhouse siblings, the books introduce also their grandfather. Oh, and water fairies killed Sookie's parents so they were enemies.

Re: What is Sookie Stackhouse? (spoilers)
Yeah, definitely not peter pan You've only seen nice happy dancing fairies so far, but believe me, the fairies in Sookie's world can be *nasty* motherfuckers. There's a whole mythology around fairies that hasn't yet been well-explained in the books, but what has been explained (or hinted at) so far has been really cool. Don't worry, it's gonna be awesome I'm sure

Re: What is Sookie Stackhouse? (spoilers)
Even without all the book-spoilers, Alan Ball said that while Sookie's supernatural talents (reading minds, the white flash) were mental, Jason's were physical (i.e. he is irresistible to women). I thought the whole "hippie garden" was weak, but the episode had enough good spots to rank among the better ones so far. I especially loved the whole scene with the Magistrate at the end. "Can we hurry it along? I'm getting cold feet." "Sure, my little puddin'." The delivery and double-meaning were just awesome!

Sad to see Zeljko Ivanek (Magister) get killed, he was a perfect fit for the role, and he played superb! Not to mention Franklin was awesome! To bad he got killed off as well :S Franklin: "Why?! Tara, Why!?" Tara: "I was afraid" Franklin: "Of mehihi!? You were afraid of me!? Thats insane!" Tara: "But you tie me up!" Franklin: "To keep you safe, omg, what other reason could there be?" Made me laugh hard Give us more Jessica please!
