Topic: Lizards underground (may contain no content)

A two parter, thankfully. Maybe a three parter? The classic DrWho vibe confirms with the revamping of an old enemy from the Pertwee era. Not even I am that old tongue. Out is the ugly-ugly-ugly 3-eyed  masks, in is beautifull prostetics. I am very glad for the lack of bad CGI in this one. Of course the city is digital, but is a good thing not to have the "eel from nowhere" again. Plot, presentation, everything down to the Doctor mispiloting  the Tardis is from a pre-RTD era. Other than that, I'm not commenting until next week.

Re: Lizards underground (may contain no content)

The worst episode of this season is still the one with Churchill and the Daleks that just make you cry because they were so horrible and disgusting, with their new suits..

I guess the directors wanted to reach out to the gay community aswell..

Couldn't they just have shown the doctor playing that unicorn game instead?

Re: Lizards underground (may contain no content)

First, I corrected some typos on the original post, I was really tired.
Second, Churchill-Dalek episode is one that had all going for it and yet moved backwards - it sucked!
Third, there is a definite intention of paying homage to pre-RTD (i.e. Classic 63-89) Doctor, a bit more kid friendly, Doctor was gay enough during the RTD to the point of being propaganda. Little underestanding I have over Brit television, probably the public had a say about that, probably not a good one.
Fourth, I am really holding qualitative opinions on this episode until I see the second part. I have been defending on this forum that many of the stories would have been better as two parters (WWII Daleks included), so I'll wait until tomorrow in hopes of being proven right and dread of being proven wrong.

NOTE: RTD + Russel T. Davies (2005-2009 series, 9th and 10th doctors). Pertwee was the 3rd Doctor, who encountered the original evolved subterranean lizards - downloading the Confidential for this episode can be really helpful. This one seemed aimed at the granddads of todays children.
