Re: FlashForward canceled
I really enjoyed this show - it wasn't all genious and shiny but very enjoyable. What other show of this format is left? Fringe, V, and Caprica are great (and renewed - well Caprica hasn't finshed season one yet) but are of a different genre.
24 and Lost are no more - where do I get my action drama fix?
Re: FlashForward canceled
was anyone surprised? The show never really took off, it was all downhill from the start of the first episode
Re: FlashForward canceled
burn notice isn't drama... i think FF and burn notice aren't even slightly similar.
Re: FlashForward canceled
So much lost potential...sad to see such an interesting show idea so poorly executed. Would have been nice to see it through another season so the writers could get their sea legs...

Agreed. where the hell did Burn Notice come from in this thread. Way different.
Having said that, BN is damn good.

Re: FlashForward canceled
I gave flashforward 6 episodes before I called it quits, I got the impression it was going lost on me, just endless plot lines and potentially a ton of questions left unanswered... Just like lost ironically...
To be honest I'm not surprised, everyone I know has stopped watching it because it just wasn't 'gripping' enough since it took alot of effort to follow.
Re: FlashForward canceled
For me it's had its moments and I would've liked to see it have more time.
I do, however, think that this US network thing of putting shows on 3-month hiatus is soooooo wrong and FlashForward may have suffered because people forgot about it and didn't watch it when it came back on.

I agree in one sense but disagree in another. If 3 months is enough for you to forget about a show then it wasn't worth watching in the first place...there are a lot of shows I look forward too during the 3 months and almost count the days till they start up again.
Re: FlashForward canceled
good. FF sucked arse. first ep was great then it just became one of those american buhuu series, where nothing actually interesting is happening...
Re: FlashForward canceled
FlashForward was a great idea somewhat poorly executed, but I actually enjoyed it a lot. The problem is exactly the same as was with Jericho, good cast, nice idea, but it's just too darn big. When the scale goes too big, things start losing themselves. V has that potenbtial problem but is solved by the fact that the enemy is clearly determined from day 1. And, well, there is no time travelling. You cannot timetravel without an anchor! Let me just say it again: YOU CANNOT TIME TRAVEL WITHOUT AN ANCHOR. Once more with feeling: YOU CANNOT TIME TRAVEL WITHOUT AN ANCHOR! And FlashForward had no anchor, had no one you could trust, even if wrongly, to get you out of the mess. So the mesh spread too thin and the show ended up falling through it's own poures. It's sad, I actually liked the performances, loved some of the characters etc, it's a tough premise to follow, and a great one, kudos for the effort. Perhaps, like V now and BSG before it, in the future someone in the fture will pick it upfor a retrial and be able to see what worked and what did not more clearly, thus refining it into the show we all thoought we might see this time.
Re: FlashForward canceled
Pity. Was an interesting show. Sounded good, but just didn't get a great start. You also severely limit your audience if you have a really complicated, in depth storyline that people can't pick up easily.
In terms of you action fix, there's a few pilots that sound like they could be quite good.
Re: FlashForward canceled
What are the odds that they will wrap this up properly? ;(
none? what a pity, i kinda liked flashforward, even tho sometimes i couldn't recall what was previous episode all about.
and to be honest i have to stop watching shows that are getting canceled. or maybe stop watching shows overall, that would be a great time-saver.

If I could just find a system to what shows get cancelled after the first season! The last year (or so) has been bad with Moonlight, Defying Gravity, Mercy, Trauma and now FlasForward (amongst others...)
OK, maybe I should always wait until a show is in it's second season and then go back and watch the first season....
