Topic: 24: The Movie (2012)
The series is finished with Day 8 but will move to the big screen probably in 2012. IMDb Some news 04/19/2010:
According to Sutherland, screenwriter Billy Ray (State of Play) finished the film's script a couple of weeks ago. The film will condense the show's 24-hour time-frame into two hours, meaning the plot won't be constrained by geography. [said=Kiefer Sutherland]We've always had to have the situation come to us, but now it's feasible to get [Jack Bauer] from Eastern Europe to England [during the movie].[/said]

Re: 24: The Movie (2012)
'24' Movie Update: Kiefer Sutherland Says It Won't Be In Real Time As "24" fans know, Jack Bauer is on standby, waiting to get back in action. Actor Kiefer Sutherland stopped by "Jimmy Kimmel Live" (weeknights, 12 a.m. EST on ABC) and much to the crowd's delight he discussed the big "24" movie plans. Sutherland, who is currently starring in Fox's "Touch" (special preview Wed., Jan. 25 at 9 p.m. EST on Fox, before it officially premieres Mon., March 19, 9 p.m. EST), told Kimmel production is slated to begin mid-April. At the Television Critics Association press tour, Sutherland revealed about 6 months of time will have passed in Jack Bauer's life between the "24" series finale and the upcoming movie. Hardcore fans of "24" may want to sit down for this little nugget of info: the movie will not follow the show's minute-by-minute time format. "No, it's actually -- for us it's a great break because we will not do it in real time" Sutherland told Kimmel. "The two-hour film will be a representation of a 24-hour day, which gives us -- all of a sudden Jack Bauer can get on a plane and you don't have to sit with him for the whole ride." And without the network and FCC restrictions of TV, expect a bit of a potty mouth on Jack Bauer. "I think he'll probably only swear once, that's where we're at in the script now, but it's certainly 100 percent more than he ever got to do before," Sutherland said. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/01/2 … tml?ref=tv

Re: 24: The Movie (2012)
Kiefer Sutherland stopped by "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" to promote "Touch," his new Fox series; but the conversation quickly turned to his old show, "24." A "24" movie has been in the works since the series wrapped and Sutherland has kept viewers in the loop about the continued adventures of Jack Bauer since the finale in 2010. However, it seems the movie has hit a little snag. According to TheWrap, 20th Century Fox halted work on the movie amid budget concerns and scheduling conflicts. But Sutherland told Jay Leno it's a scheduling issue. "We finally got a script to a really amazing place and unfortunately, because of my schedule ... and everyone else's schedule and trying to find the right slot to do the film in," he told Leno. "We're still trying and if we don't get it into this slot, we'll do it next year." The original plan was to start work on the movie in April after Sutherland wraps work on "Touch." Sutherland said the "24" movie won't be in real-time. The original timing of the film had Jack Bauer's story picking up six months after the finale. "Our job is to make sure that we make the best possible movie ever and if we have to wait a little longer, we will," he told Leno. "We're still trying and hopefully, we'll get it done." http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/03/1 … tml?ref=tv

That gentleman, Mr. Sutherland. Not bashing his employers even though he knows they're bunch of greedy cocksuckers.

Re: 24: The Movie (2012)
While promoting his new Fox series "Touch" -- a supernatural drama about a boy who sees how everyone on Earth is connected through numbers -- Kiefer Sutherland talked about a number that is still very close to his heart: "24." For nine years, Sutherland played Jack Bauer on the drama series, and a "24" movie has been in the works since the series wrapped. Sutherland has kept fans in the loop about the continued adventures of Jack Bauer since the series finale in 2010. However, recently, it seems momentum on the film has slowed down, as reports last week stated that 20th Century Fox halted work on the movie amid budget concerns and scheduling conflicts. But Sutherland is setting the record straight. Since he's busy in production on "Touch" -- where he not only stars, but also serves as executive producer -- it's really just a scheduling issue that stopping production on the "24" film. But don't worry "24" fans: Sutherland told The Huffington Post that if they can't figure something out for the small window that he does have available, then they'll pick back up again in eight months. "It's been difficult," said Sutherland. "It's been something that I've wanted to do for a very long time. It's also unbelievably hard to write. We finally got a script that we absolutely love, but there are so many moving parts. There are actors that we want to get that might not be available. We have to find the perfect director. Unfortunately, I have a very finite window because of 'Touch' and other commitments that I have, as do a lot of the other actors and directors, and so we're still trying to get it in this very small window, and if that doesn't happen, then we'll wait eight months, and we'll do it properly. What's most important is that we make the best film possible. The fans definitely deserve that." As for who will be joining Sutherland in the film, the actor hints that there will definitely be a few fan favorites. "There are a few [familiar faces in the script], but there are quite a few new ones as well." http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/03/1 … &ir=TV

Re: 24: The Movie (2012)
Elisha Cuthbert is ready to slip back into her Kim Bauer running shoes. The "Happy Endings" star told The Hollywood Reporter she is all set to reprise her breakout role. Cuthbert, who has spent two seasons on ABC's "Happy Endings," was a series regular on "24" for the first three seasons and returned to the show as a recurring player as star Kiefer Sutherland's character's daughter. "I know Kiefer is busy working on his show," Cuthbert told The Hollywood Reporter. "I think it's all pretty much there and ready to go, it's just a matter of when he wants to do it. I'm confident that it will happen because, for a long time, I heard nothing about it and then got a call. They basically said be on standby, and of course I'd be thrilled to do it. We'll see." The "24" movie was scheduled to shoot during Sutherland's hiatus from Fox's "Touch" in April 2012, but plans have fallen through. Sutherland explained the hold up to Jay Leno in March, citing scheduling conflicts and not reported salary disputes. "We finally got a script to a really amazing place and unfortunately, because of my schedule ... and everyone else's schedule and trying to find the right slot to do the film in," Sutherland told Leno. "We're still trying and if we don't get it into this slot, we'll do it next year." HuffPost TV caught up with Sutherland at the premiere of "Touch," where he said familiar faces would be returning to the action franchise. "There are a few [familiar faces in the script], but there are quite a few new ones as well," he said. Time will tell if Cuthbert will be one of those familiar face. Re: 24: The Movie (2012)
Kiefer Sutherland On '24' Movie Was the "24" movie just a rumor that got blown out of proportion? Not according to Kiefer Sutherland. The "Touch" actor -- who starred on "24" as Jack Bauer for nine years -- assures the movie is on its way, and that it will shoot next summer. "We didn’t have a script ready for that until very close to the end of ‘Touch,’" Sutherland explained at the Fox Television Critics Assocation party. "We knew we were coming back so there was a very finite window for me to make the film, to try to prep it, cast it and all of those other things. It was just unrealistic for Fox to try and make it, so they pushed it for next break.” When Sutherland spoke about the film in March, he admitted it had been a challenge. "It's been something that I've wanted to do for a very long time," he told HuffPost. "It's also unbelievably hard to write. We finally got a script that we absolutely love, but there are so many moving parts. There are actors that we want to get that might not be available. We have to find the perfect director." So is Sutherland worried fans will lose interest in the film if it isn't released until 2014? Not in the least. "I think we can make a great film," he said at the Fox party. "I mean, I don’t want to do it with a cane, but we’ll see. We’ll see what happens.” http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/07/2 … _hp_ref=tv

Re: 24: The Movie (2012)
'24' Movie Dead? Director Antoine Fuqua Says The Project Is Done The "24" movie is dead, according to its one-time director Antoine Fuqua. “Yeah, that’s not happening," Fuqua said IndieWire. "I don’t think it’s gonna happen at all, definitely not with me." The "24" movie has been rumored -- and discussed -- for some time since Kiefer Sutherland hung up his Jack Bauer gun holster when the Fox series ended in 2010. In July 2012, Sutherland revealed there was a shooting schedule in place and the "24" flick would get up and running during his summer hiatus from "Touch." "We didn’t have a script ready for that until very close to the end of 'Touch,'" Sutherland said in July 2012. "We knew we were coming back so there was a very finite window for me to make the film, to try to prep it, cast it and all of those other things. It was just unrealistic for Fox to try and make it, so they pushed it for next break.” Fuqua said he met with Sutherland and Fox was game, but problems arose. "I don’t think he was able to get a proper agreement with Fox," Fuqua said. "The time just passed, and I went off to go to what I was doing.” http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/03/1 … _hp_ref=tv
