Topic: "The IT Crowd" Returns
I just wanted to make sure fans of one of the funniest television programs ever, are aware that The IT Crowd is back on the air on Friday evenings, for it's long awaited second series.
Needless to say, it has been a long wait, almost 18 months since series one came to a close in March of 2006. But yesterday's episode, The Work Outing only serves as a reminder of why the The IT Crowd is so damned good and why almost any wait is tolerable for comedy this golden. It has been a very long time since I laughed so hard that it made my head hurt, but once the laughs start coming, they just don't let up and I found myself in all sorts of pain in very quick order. Definitely, the most painful fun this side of S&M, I am sure.
If the new American version of the series, being aired on NBC next January is even half as funny as the original Channel 4 series, then they have a major hit coming their way next spring. In the meantime, we still have the original. And it is without a doubt one of the funniest programs to ever air on a television set. If you are a fan of the series, rejoice, as it has returned. And if you have no idea what I am talking about, track down season one (the only series on DVD daring enough to be subtitled in 1337). By the time you have seen all six episodes . . . well, you'll see.
Anyway, below is a quick synopsis of series two, episode one, The Work Outing, and below that a little something extra . . .
The Work Outing
First aired: 8/24/2007Dashing Philip drops in from the sixth floor to ask Jen to the theatre, but a possible date turns into a work outing when Moss and Roy also get invites. The evening predictably spirals towards disaster, leaving Jen to wonder whether Philip is who he claims to be.
