Re: preairs are in the air ...

Thanks for those - I've just finished Dexter and the Sarah Connor Chronicles, and came on here to see what everyone else thinks so far - now there's more shows to check out!

Dexter seems to be off to a slow start, I'm hoping they add something as gripping as last season into this one.

Sarah Connor could do with a bit of tweaking, you can't make a Terminator out of hair gel and a few graphics.
That said, you could have a show about paint drying and if Summer Glau was hosting I'd be there!

Re: preairs are in the air ...

i haven't watched the sarah connor chronicles yet, but pushing daisies is really great. lot of potential in there! and quite a unique and funny concept.

i'll also definitly keep watching californication, not only because i love david duchovny .... it's funny, in an ironic and subliminal kind of way .....

Re: preairs are in the air ...

i LOVED Pushing Daisies... apart from the prestige of talent involved, it was fun, quirky and sweet. totally reminded me of Lemony Snicket's in some ways... can't wait to see more smile

i'm going to eat your brains and gain your memories...

Re: preairs are in the air ...

weeds is out there too. (on eztv e.g.)

Re: preairs are in the air ...

Well I've just finished watching Pushing Daisies and Californication. Both are brilliant imo!
Californication is an irreverent look at society with tons of inappropriate humour. Plus, the acting was on the spot wich is always pleasant.

And on Pushing Daisies, you can feel Bryan fuller's magic touch (pun intended) ; he's managed to find yet again another concept around his favorite theme : life and death and the things in between. It's almost as if he'd brought back Wonderfalls.

I'd really recommend watching both those shows. And Weeds and Dexter, of course, but you should already have done that wink

Re: preairs are in the air ...

@ thierry, well that's what i liked about studio 60. i hope californication stays on the air for a while ....

anyone seen chuck yet? i really don't get it. at first they killed the agent dude who stole all the information from that government computer without hesitating, and then they spare chuck, who got all the information from that computer inside his brain and work together with him!? ....??? hmmm, maybe it's due to my blondness ... but i really don't get the change of heart ....

by the way everybody, whenever i stumble over new preairs, you'll find links in my first post .... have a great day everybody .... big_smile

Re: preairs are in the air ...

I watched Pushing Daisies last night - I loved it!  It was so... odd.  But in a way that really appeals to me.  The whole cast were great, and I was so surprised to see that it was Jim Dale doing the narrating - totally didn't sound like him.

Although I gotta say - what the hell did Anna Friel do to her teeth?  They just about blinded me with their whiteness.  tongue

Re: preairs are in the air ...

Just saw the "Bionic Woman" PreAir Pilot - and liked it. The Preair is more like a workprint copy. It was funny to see "temp" written on the screen while showing the real arm instead of the bionic CGI version wink Also some of the cast will get replaced.
I wonder why the show isn't called "Bionic Women" because we learn that there are at least two nice actresses doing some nice Matrix Kung-Fu big_smile
Katee Sackhoff is No. 1 and Michelle Ryan - the main character - is No. X. I bet there were some models in between.
While it was obvious that there has to be that secret military base where they build these women I really like the idea that there is (or will be) a second version like a counter organization.

That show is definitely a keeper and I hope that the final pilot will get some improvement. It ends with "to be continued" which may be a hint that we'll get a two ep show opener big_smile
The preair was done in April btw.

i have to say i really enjoyed this one... nice balance of action and setting up a bigger story, good acting, good cinematography... and Katee Sackhoff kicks some ass smile

and just finished watching Chuck, which was darn good, lighthearted  fun. nothing more, nothing less.

so, the final round up... didn't dig Aliens In America, or Sarah Connor... everything else gets the 'nundrumm seal o' approval.

edited to remove pointless dribble, and add even more dribble tongue...

Re: preairs are in the air ...

I just watched Californication...... I wasn't too keen on the random nudity… but my boyfriend definitely seemed to enjoy it (typical).  Overall though it was a pretty good show.
Now I'm off to watch Pushing Daisies.

Thanks for all the links. smile

Re: preairs are in the air ...

Pushing daisies has a nice fairytale feel about it. Where have I seen that count of days before? Hitchhiker Guide? Look forward to see what they do with it
