Re: The Pacific
Just watched the first part , I must say , I'm thrilled to have another miniseries from the creators of "Band Of Brothers" , It was (and still is) a Masterpiece . From the looks of the first part , this won't disappoint us (I really hope) , it was a "strong" episode that ended just right... "How fucked are you now , How fucked are you now , How fucked are you now , you surely fucked now..." (happy birthday music) - epic!!

Re: The Pacific
I loved the part where the frustrated Japanese soldier was shouting and asking for them to kill him. Good thing I just listened to an audio lecture series about The Pacific War :> (Didn't really know anything about it previously)

Indeed. When it first came out, I was 13 I think and my parents didn't give me enough money to buy one myself. A while after that, I learned how to use torrents and watched the whole thing and LOVED it. Now I found a set that was on sale and I got it.

Re: The Pacific
1st Episode wasn't as strong as the first episode of band of brothers, but from all the trailers this looks more then promising and was still awesome...

Re: The Pacific
During the original broadcast, the first ep of BoB wasn't received strong. So PLEASE, stop comparing it to BoB.

Re: The Pacific
Tell your roommate to stop comparing it to BoB, it's a different war front, different enemies, different battlezone, different story. And we THINK that BoB is so great on characters, because we know it, probably rewatched it a lot of times, right? After Pacific is over, and ppl will start to rewatch it, they'll also see characters and recognize them.

Indeed. The Colt M1911 .45ACP is my favorite pistol. The guy was cleaning it wrong though, they should clean from the breach to the bore and not the other way around. Anyway, just nitpicking Besides, wartime right?

The US military uses the Beretta M9 now but some branches such as USMC & Special Operations Command (SOC) have reverted to the M1911. Gotta love the Kimber Custom TLE II

Mmmm. That is one sweet 1911. I've been more of a Springfield Armory guy ever since I found out that the Series II Kimbers have the series 80 firing pin block.
I see this model as a perfect mix between oldschool and new. The matte black tactical look with the Redwood grips is just the PERFECT blend. *drool*

As far as I know, the only Kimbers without the Series 80 FPB are the Warrior series pistols. Those look pretty badass as well.
