Topic: Alice (Mini-Series)
Alice
Living next door, to Alice... Alice? Who the fuck is Alice? So, tommorow and the day after there's a SciFi (as I said, I will NOT use the new name) movie event, featuring the old Alice in Wonderland basic plot but the new Alice is probably more of a modern teen bitch that a sweet girl from the XIX century.

Re: Alice (Mini-Series)
Hmmm, yeah. Could be interesting, or could be as I suspect a pile of poo. I hope I'm wrong. Why did they change their name??? Why do channels do that? I mean, Dave? Come on!

ask someone from finland how they pronounce "sci-fi"
Ask someone from Poland what "Syfy" means.

What's so funny about that?

Daemons are benevolent or benign nature spirits, beings of the same nature as both mortals and gods, similar to ghosts, chthonic heroes, spirit guides, forces of nature or the gods themselves.

It was fun and entertaining And for those who watch Eureka - Taggart is here and he's as crazy as ever Well ok, the last half hour is quite not...

Re: Alice (Mini-Series)
I've seen Andrew Lee-Potts in Primeval, and well... I really didn't see this kind of potential there. Brilliant actor. I quite enjoyed it. Never seen Scorsone/Alice in anything else that I remember, but together with Lee-Potts she carried this thing. And Taggart was awesome as well Only thing I didn't quite like is that I didn't "study" up on something a bit closer to the original story before watching this. It's been quite a while since I've seen a more traditional version of Alice In Wonderland. Perhaps I should go find the book in some library...

well i watched this show. i have to tell i'm not impressed, nor dissapointed. they had a lot of famous actors and actresses, but overall the story was kinda weak. dragon?, knight?, casino?. ohh comon.

Re: Alice (Mini-Series)
It was entertaining, although I still have second part to watch But based on the first one I can tell, that it's clean enjoyable show, just like Hoghfather or Colour of Magic released some time ago by Sky One.

comon. Hogfather was directly from book. and color of Magic was close to what pratchett wrote.

Re: Alice (Mini-Series)
There's a movie based on "Colour of Magic"? Need to watch!!! /edit Well well, lookse who already submited it godzi - ok, those to are straight from the book. But Alice is an modern interpretation, so of course, that there are differences. Actually, it's more like "how Wonderland would evolve in 150 years".

Re: Alice (Mini-Series)
I find Syfy's Alice to be Pratchett-like actually. I'm not sure if I'd enjoyed watching Alice that much if it was write directly from the book although I haven't read it

Certainly not that funny compared to the books, but still entertaining. You can see at this example the power of imagination

i wish we got a sci-fi channel. yuo could say that TV6 is the closest to being one, but still too much other stuff there.

I don't watch our TV, 'cause of the thing we call "lektorzy" (dunno how to translate it) which is just that a dude reads the subtitles, without the subtitles, and the movie volume is so low you'll probably hear nothing. I hate it, therefore I don't watch our tv.
