Re: The Prisoner (US)

I haven't finished watching the new one yet, but it's very difficult to compare the two shows, as apart from the basic central premise, they're very different.  I must admit, I miss the sort of... whimsical menace, that was present in the original.

Re: The Prisoner (US)

Like I said before I do like the original better...The original was much more of an 60's acid induced version, maybe I favor the original because, well it was the original..I mean it was just great.

This one is good though, especially since the caliber of acting (at least to me) is so much better than the original.

The hints and clues and flashes back and forth seem to do nothing of helping at all towards figuring out what is going on...it was really interesting when they kept flashing back and forth with the girl and his place and the current place where all the things were in the same location...

and what exactly happened when he went into therapy to get the girls..the white ball showed up then he woke up in the hospital....really good mind screw.

I am kind of wondering if they departed from the original, and that 6 is actually in some kind of coma or drug induced coma, or maybe even in a matrix like environment, and the holes appearing everywhere is the fabric of either his mind slipping away or maybe his life? Thus 2 would be the representation of the threat to his body or mind...and most of us know who 1 should be.

I really like the clever and sneaky way they are using the numbers.. 2 and un2, as well as 6 and 6 x 2...and then the linewhen 6 is trying to get 6x2 back "if we are one then we can defeat 2"

Very clever writing

I remember watching this as a child, forgot how very slow the story progressed
