Topic: The Good Wife
The Good Wife
The Good Wife is a drama starring Emmy Award winner Julianna Margulies as a wife and mother who must assume full responsibility for her family and re-enter the workforce after her husband's very public sex and political corruption scandal lands him in jail. Another new show that IMO got off to a good start.

Re: The Good Wife
Somehow the story of the underdog winning against all odds through modesty and hard work never gets old. Also it doesn't hurt that the show has a lot of hot chicks in it

Re: The Good Wife
And we have a winner - The Good Wife is turning out to be quite the great show. Riveting stories, sprawling backstory, and great acting all around. Add to that at least one LMAO moment with a judge a week: lawyer: "so by the time you reached the station, he had had time to concoct a story?" opposing lawyer: "objection" judge: "sustained. if for no other reason than the use of plu-perfect tense" or judge: "don't 'with all due respect' me, i'm not your high school football coach. having said that ms. <opposing council>, 'inadvertent' my ass. <to the defense> how long will you need to interview the missing witnesses?" lawyer: "to properly prepare for it, about a month" judge: "you have three days" lawyer: "but your honor ..." judge: "now you got two. want to try out for one?" Also, the show gets the Emmy Rossum Seal of Approval

Well, in episode one they showed the assistant Alicia and Cary were sharing and she was smokin'. Only we haven't seen her since then and in the last episode they were looking for a replacement ... Then there's of course the in-house investigator, who's pretty hot. And lastly Alicia herself, in a MILF kind of way

I recently watched episodes 1-5 back to back. I was pleasantly surprised. I very good show! It is now on my list to watch every week which is good because so many other new and old shows have turned to crap.

Is this the same judge that said "you have three days/but your honor .../now you got two. want to try out for one?":D I'm happy that Margulies found herself a good show But I still see her in pink scrubs and curly hair

Nope, this was the very first judge Felicia went "against." This episode crossed a threshold for me the first time. I loved the moments with her husband and how the ultimate solution at the end was actually damaging to his plans - and that she was okay with it. But it seems the show is very much going down the cliched road of "anything Felicia touches turns to gold" - she has only innocent clients, there is always a last-minute rescue (witness or piece of evidence) that secures truth's victory, etc. Unless they balance it out with her not getting the job at the end of the 6 months, it's going to get trite ... I thought that in today's post-Practice and Boston Legal world we were beyond "all clients are innocent." True, one could argue that The Practice was the exact opposite on the scale with all clients being dirty and guilty and Boston Legal, well, that was just plain silly in all it did. But still, I wish they would have some cases where they defend somebody who actually did it and they get them off.

Re: The Good Wife
I think it's just a matter of time when she'll have a client who is actually guilty or not able to prove innocence.

Agree, very good episode. Even though I am not liking Kalinda's behavior one bit ...

Re: The Good Wife
Nice trick. From the beginning I also thought like everyone else "ok, he did it and he'll go free". And after the plot development, I thought it even more and then "bam". (edit: actually, now I'm confused, if he really did it or not). Thumbs up.

Re: The Good Wife
Good Wife was the best "public broadcast" TV show this season. Simply amazing. I loved the finale, except the cliched last scene. The amount of joy I feel when Alan Cumming's Eli Gold is on screen cannot be described - the quiet bad-assness and flippant quotes coming from him make an already awesome show twice as good. Can't wait for the next season!

It was well-written, but the direction, music, and editing made it something special

It reminded me of Tarantino, the way it silently started as a radio and then was louder and louder.
