Re: TV News Weekly Review #1 & #2
13/09/09 - TV News Weekly Review - #1 - Pilot
This first edition will probably be longer than the regular one, of course if we will be picked up by the network (Update: We got money to do a whole season! Woohoo!) At first let's go with:
- Fox is developing a Firefly-ish Sci-Fi Western from the producer of Chuck! Well, isn't that a few years too late?! (Read more here).
- Miss Pushing Daisies? Then you will be happy to know, that Bryan Fuller will produce two new shows: Sellevision (hour long drama) and No Kill (half-hour comedy) (Read more here).
- I really need to start watching Doctor Who. And speaking of the doctor, Richard Curtis (Notting Hill, Love Actually and Four Weddings And A Funeral) will write an episode for the fifth series. As he said: There will be a monster. And a famous historical figure will battle the monster. (...) I am very interested in time travel for some reason or other. (...) Sometimes you do just love the idea that you could go back in time and change things. (Read more here).
- A few more people joined the 24 cast: Rami Malek , Julian Morris, and Hrach Titizian (Topic about the 8 season).
- Summer Glau joins the Dollhouse cast (Read more here) and, just for fun: The 'hate' topic.
- (spoiler alert) Adam Rodriguez (Eric Delko in CSI:Miami)
- Bones is coming to it's 100th episode and the series creator Hart Hanson is thinking a flashback episode, showing the first investigation of Bones and Booth (Read more here).
- Another joining: Gavin Rossdale joins Criminal Minds (Read more here).
- Someone is returning to House. Who? Check for yourself.
- Game of Thrones (show based on a fantasy novel by George R. R. Martin) cast is known (this is also a good news for Sarah Connor fans) (thanks to pablo-pancho) Read here the full cast.
- Sad news. M*A*S*H writer Larry Gelbart died at the age of 81, in Friday. Rest in peace. (link).
- I don't know how to say this, so I'll just say it: SyFy (formerly SciFi) Looking at Cooking, Talk Shows?! What the hell? I can't believe it.
- HBO orderd 11 episodes of Boardwalk Empire. But what is the most exciting part? Martin Scorsese (Goodfellas, Casino, The Gangs of New York) will be included! And Steve Buscemi (Reservoir Dogs, The Sopranos) will play the main part. (Read more here).
- Curious about the fall new shows? Here is a list with summaries, so you can catch up and see what interests you.

Re: TV News Weekly Review #1 & #2
Hmm! Good job, Orlando. Will be looking forward to these summaries... (don't really read a lot of TV-related news myself)
That Firefly clone won't be half as good as the original, I bet. Also, I don't like Chuck and Supernatural - the shows that are mentioned as being above shit grade from the same studios. And about the Bones thing... I really... REALLY hate flashback episodes. They're always and without exception boring. They're like reruns, only worse - because you expected something new. And to do this to celebrate?! Grrrr...
Re: TV News Weekly Review #1 & #2
great Work, Thank You
Re: TV News Weekly Review #1 & #2
Well done, Orlando - this forum needed something like that!
And I found another news for you - I hope you'll find it interesting enough:
http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/ … 796372.ece
It's about planned TV adaptation of a zombie comic book
Re: TV News Weekly Review #1 & #2
barowski: ah, I didn't read through all the articles - I just saw orlando's short version and thought... "BOOOOORING!!!" when I saw the line about bones. But if it's an old case we haven't seen it might be good.

20/09/09 - TV News Weekly Review - #2 - Out of Gas
Welcome to the second edition of TV News Weekly Review, by me Surprisingly, there is a lot of news in my "TV News" folder (it's better than looking in one day backwards to the all week). So, here we go:
- Defying Gravity cancelled or not? This was on everyone's minds, specially that E08 ended with a nasty cliffhanger. First there was the information that yes, it was pulled out by ABC. A few days later, it seems that it isn't. ABC is even planning to air the reaming episodes. But when? Hopefully as soon as possible. (official topic) Edit Well, the show is cancelled, four ep's to air, don't know when (thanks BB).
- Also Caprica, the spinoff from BSG was rumored to be cancelled. But it was just a rumor. Uff, thank God. I mean, two shows cancelled in one week?
- Like horror movies/series? Then you will be thrilled that Frank Darabontis (Shawshank Redemption) is making a Walking Dead TV Series. (Read more here)
- This week "The Jay Leno Show" started. I don't watch that kind of talk shows, but these news aren't nice. Critics kick Jay in the nuts with their reviews and in the next night almost 7 million people that watched it last night decide not to tune in. Well Mister Leno, that's gotta mean something.
- The longest soap opera in the world (72 years, 15,762 episodes) ended. Yes, Guiding Light's last episode aired September 18. Finally! (Read more here)
- New reality *everyone stops reading and goes to the next news* show Lock N' Load by Showtime will premiere 21th of October. Maybe, just maybe, this will be interesting? (Read more here)
- Two news about Dollhouse: An interview with Joss about season 2 and that Ray Wise joins the cast. I don't know how about you, but I'm quite excited. (Read more here)
- Jasmine Guy joined the cast of Twilight: The Series... I mean The Vampire Diaries.
- Although I see that everyone interested knows it, but there is a new promo for Stargate: Universe. (official topic)(Read more here)
- Three special episodes of The SciFi Guys, with exclusive interviews and the first one premiered September 16.
- A little insight about the second season of Fringe from Joshua Jackson (Peter Bishop) (Read here)
- The first 18 minutes of Flash Forward (Here!). But US only (official topic)
- Another set premiere: V - 3rd of November (Read more here)
- Vinnie Jones will guest star in Chuck and produce two new series. (Read more here)

I agree.
From Wikipedia:
"E! Online rated the pilot episode "on a scale of 1 to 10, we give it an 11. V is the best pilot we've seen in, well, forever." [5] The website Seat42F rated the pilot episode A+, applauding its cast and effects and naming it one of the best pilots in years. [6] USA Today's Robert Bianco named V on his list of the top ten new shows, stating that the remake is well-made and "quickly establishes its own identity."[7]"
But my bet is that it will probably get cancelled after - I don't know- let's say two episodes. It seems to be a good science fiction show after all.
Re: TV News Weekly Review #1 & #2
I wonder if NBC is going to carry season 2 of Merlin, only on BBC cable at present.
I don't subscribe to cable.

Okay, everybody says this airs on the BBC but we don't have that channel here standard. It is normally shown on NBC here but it is not showing up....... any suggestions?
Also, they were right. The Jay Leno show sucks..... it is just like the Tonight show but without a desk.....
