What are you talking about? It seams like a mix between the lost room and x-files.... and I liked it.. It's full of potential, and I really hope that it will have time to live up to it...
I guess I could be too hard on it, but didn't you think it tended to drag alot?
Some of the ideas in the show are good..but the two main actors are horrible (at least at this point)
Sure, there were some slower moments, but that could be because it was the pilot and they needed to explain the plot and introduce the characters...
I actually don't have any problems with the main actor or actress... but than, I rarely notice mediocre... it has to be terrible to annoy me...

ditto that sentiment....
Re: Old Discussion Topic
I liked.
Daemons are benevolent or benign nature spirits, beings of the same nature as both mortals and gods, similar to ghosts, chthonic heroes, spirit guides, forces of nature or the gods themselves.

Re: Old Discussion Topic
Alright... with a show of hands. Who among us are still watching Dollhouse? I know I am. Complaining about slow spots after just seeing the pilot seems a bit premature to me. I agree with the guy with the impossible nick - it's full of potential. And I don't really think the acting was off at all. There sure is tension enough to make it go somewhere in that regard. And some of it was downright hilarious.

How do you do the black background thingy here? [bg=black] didn't seem to do the trick
Re: Old Discussion Topic
if i cannae dis on pilot episodes that aren't 'awesome' right out of the gate then you take away from the funs...
and this is me not showing my hand for dollhouse...

Re: Old Discussion Topic
Aaaah! Right... got it
Laughed my ass off!
Re: Old Discussion Topic
I watched 30 minutes of it in 3 days... I just have better things to do
Re: Old Discussion Topic
I think we can all agree that it wasn't the strongest pilot ever.... but is there really much else to watch atm?
I think I have 4 shows currently airing ... so I'll give it another few eps to see if it gets stronger.
Re: Old Discussion Topic
I liked it, also found this...
Sci Fi UK has picked up supernatural investigation drama Warehouse 13, which premiered in the US this week.
The two-hour opener to the 12-part series secured 3.5m viewers to the channel’s recently-rebranded US counterpart Syfy on 7 July – its highest audience for an individual programme in three years.
Warehouse 13 centres on two Secret Service agents transferred to a top-secret storage facility in South Dakota that houses every strange artefact, mysterious relic, fantastical object and supernatural souvenir ever collected by the US government.
The warehouse’s caretaker charges the agents, Pete Lattimer and Myka Bering, with chasing down reports of supernatural and paranormal activity in search of new objects to cache at the Warehouse, as well as helping him to control the warehouse itself.
Sci Fi UK secured UK first-run standard and high definition rights from NBC Universal International Television Distribution.
James Newton, NBCU Global Network’s head of channels, said: “There was a tremendous buzz ahead of its launch in the US and the first night ratings are testament to what a fantastic show it is. The special effects and exciting plot twists make it a real gem for our autumn schedule.”
The series is executive produced by Jack Kenny (The Book of Daniel) and David Simkins (Dresden Files). Jace Alexander (Burn Notice, Rescue Me) is co-executive producer and directed the pilot; and Stephen Surjik (Monk, Burn Notice) is producer/director of the series.
The show’s writing team includes Farscape creator Rockne S. O’Bannon and Battlestar Galactica co-executive producer Jane Espenson.

There's a lot to watch at the moment actually:
Better Off Ted
Entourage
Hung
Raising the Bar
Top Gear
Burn Notice
Royal Pains
The Philanthropist
Eureka
Weeds
...and Leverage season 2 comes out tomorrow. So whatchyou talkin' 'bout Willis? I was so disinterested after the first 15 minutes I stopped watching Warehouse 13, but maybe I'll give it another go.
That's not a lot, you know.... it's more like a normal Tuesday!
Re: Old Discussion Topic
Yes, yes.. I do... but there are too few of them...
And by Tuesday, I mean Monday.... I don't get the Monday-shows until Tuesday morning....
Tuesday April 28th:
24
Castle
Chuck
Gossip Girl
Greek
Heroes
House
How I Met Your Mother
One Tree Hill
The Big Bang Theory
Two and a Half Men
Re: Old Discussion Topic
Actually, it's Tuesday here, when they air over there... Greek is mostly just a filler with some hot chicks and Gossip Girl is becoming that, but I really liked the first season. It had some decent writing and hot chicks
No, haven't finished Gilmore Girls yet... we'll see if I do... I'm stuck somewhere in season 3...
Re: Old Discussion Topic
She was in Vanished... an other good show that got cancelled...
Re: Old Discussion Topic
Quote from episode 3...
-One was a woman.
-Are you sure?
-Yeah, I felt her.
-Touch her boobies?
AWESOME SHOW!

Re: Old Discussion Topic
And it was so - so, nothing spectacular, so far.
But, hey, maybe it can be a summer filler. We'll see.
I'll watch at least the next episode [1.02 “Resonance”] as Tricia Helfer guest stars
Much better than the pilot. Plus it had two BOTDs
Lindy Booth as Stephanie
http://next-episode.net/browse-babes/?n … th&n=1
Tricia Helfer as Agent Bonnie Belski
http://next-episode.net/browse-babes/?n … p;s=Search
Looks like I definitely will watch at least a few more episodes
Re: Old Discussion Topic
I just watched all 3 eps last night...well, techinally 2, but really 3...and i gotta say, i like it. And a few things that Agent Lattimer says and does are totally things i would say or do.
"come on in, I got cookies"
"OH COOKIES!" ^_^
I'm not evil, I'm just virtue intolerant
Re: Old Discussion Topic
A minor-ish thing, but what's your view on the episode numbering of the W13 torrents ?
The pilot was a double bill and had the 1x01/1x02 tag; next episode was 1x03 and the latest episode 1x04.
I'm of the opinion that last night's is actually 1x03 (as it is on the homepage of next-episode).
Re: Old Discussion Topic
The only thing I hate about the shows that start with double eps each season is the number-trouble that -always- seems to happen later in the season. Bloody annoying. If only someone could decide, and everyone could follow the ehr... winning number - then I couldn't care less what the episode is called
Still seems like light entertainment this. I'm feeling that the first ep had lots of potential - especially with all the wacky stuff that could go on in the warehouse - but that the writers are doing little or nothing to tap into that potential. A ferret-creating coffeepot for instance - beautiful. Instead they are going around doing 50/50 fun stuff and serious stuff in other - less interesting places. In my opionion they should at least be 60/40 or 70/30 in favor of either "serious" scifi or comedy. This hybrid isn't working that well - yet. But there's still lot's of potential. Guess I will watch at least until midseason before I decide.
Re: Old Discussion Topic
I agree, this show has major tonal problems. The wackiness isn't prominent enough to carry the show and the serious stuff is always undermined by the comedy. From what I've read about the development process it almost seems that the high-brow heavy sci-fi show which it was conceived as (by Rockne S. O'Bannon no less) had to give way to easy buddy cop shenanigans simply because they are easier to write ...
It is significant, I think, that the pilot was written by O'Bannon and Jane Espenson, but the show itself was so far written by David Simkins (Blade: The Series) and Brent Mote. Unfortunately since Espenson was busy with Dollhouse and now is busy with Caprica, I don't think we'll get any episodes written by her ... All this adds up to this sad conclusion: The idea for the show came from two great writers, but now the show is in the hands of second-rate scribes at best. And unfortunately it shows
