theConundrumm wrote:hehe... coolest superpower ever: forgetfulness... and enjoy, Firefly is some damn good fun... The Train Job, Ariel & Objects In Space are all awesome episodes... the rest are super good too, but those three rock...
I've seen the first three episodes so far, AND .... It's a damn good show, I was hooked immediately. Could be because of the residual memory of the Serenity movie, still trying hard to hang on to the few remaining brain cells in my head pan. @mlin I shall keep a eye out for the Sarah Connor Cronicles.

Re: Firefly
Another one ya gotta see nutter. It's a sci-fi like no other. As smart as BSG but 100x funnier. Made by Joss Whedon of Buffy and Angel fame (although neither of these did much for me they are still very good shows and Joss is great at what he does) The show was dropped after ep8 but there are 13eps out on DVD. Like I said about The Wire give it 3 shows if ya don't like it then maybe reality TV is your thing after all

Re: Firefly
@Cn2 Where to start A mix of old western & China town set in outer space. A tiny bit like the Starwars IV film and I do mean very tiny (IMO Whedon's stuff shits on Lucas) the baddie's have all the good gear and the Heroes are struggling to make ends meet. Very sexy women, cool male characters. Lots of Ugly Bad dudes. Im pretty sure this could be better worded. theConundrumm a bit of help please I wouldn't want to turn anyone off it with my description

Re: Firefly
Probably the greatest show to never get a second season. At least this time (unlike so many others) we got to find out who, what, when, where and why with the brilliant movie Serenity. Good storylines, the right balance of action and comedy and lets not forget one of the worlds most beautiful women in Morena Baccarin.

I still don't get the priest bloke and why he was so important. He was hardly in it.

Re: Firefly
Not in the movie no. In the series though, he is often the one offering unexpected knowledge or showing high class connections that get everyone out of tough situations. Then there is also the fact that the mystery of his real identity hasn't been solved yet and that most fans knowing Joss Whedon's ways expect it to be a big thing... Could just be wishful thinking of course...

ach, twas fine... i think the only thing i could really add to that is that, and all other comments praising the thing is that it's real strength lies in the way it spins conventions [which is pretty much a Whedon trademark]... gots to love some Firefly... and fuck, how cool was it that 'Serenity' got a cameo in the BSG mini edit: and i'm pretty sure this is common knowledge, but, just in case... there was a graphic novella that bridged the series to the movie [and another on the way]... well worth checking out... though i think there was enough hints there to figure out that he was once either 'a key member of parliament' [or pretty darn high up] or one of them nameless bounty hunters [hence his need to become a priest and atone for his sins]... but as Whedon has said numerous times, and Book cemented in Serenity... we will never find out

Re: Firefly
I have now seen all episodes and I think that this is funny and weird show. But I still don't understand the hype, last few episodes were so much worst than the few first. It was not a waste of my time but I don't mind that the show ended. Still have to see the movie but I doubt that my opinnion will stay the same.

I kinda liked it but didn't understand the cries because of the cancellation. Now Jericho is totally different, that should've continued!

Who knows. I know that many here likes Firefly/Whedon, but I don't. I am not trying to pick a fight with anyone, we all are entitled to our own opinnions...

Re: Firefly
24 is in fact extremely boring. The only reason you don't think so is because you haven't developed the immunity I have to the hypno-toad that starts the first 5 minutes of every episode.

Re: Firefly
Welcome to round two folks - grab a popcorn and have a seat - the show is just about to resume K - 24 is as boring as Firefly has bad acting and an unoriginal script. The whole Joss thingy is just a myth - the guy produces nothing but failures. But take Jon Cassar and Kiefer Sutherland they know how to do a show and turn it into gold - at least 8 times and movies are planed even afterwards! Joss Wheedon should not be seen as Firefly more like Mayfly
