Topic: Season Finale [Spoilers]

Errrm... seriously??

What kind of finale was that.... I REALLY want this show to work and go on... but can they not see that they are killing themselves from within!?

The whole season was built up to that 30 second Clark/Doomsday fight and thats all they give us... sigh...

I honestly did NOT know that when Clark ran him into that explosion thingy that that was the end of the fight... kinda pathetic really.

If they really want S09 to work, they best get their act together!

Mxy, tell em! Supes/Doomsday was prob one of the best comic arcs ever... and they killed it in two minutes! my theory is that it cost them too much to keep Doomsday costume on screen for too long! smile

Brothers! What we do in life...Echoes in Eternity!

Re: Season Finale [Spoilers]

yeah totally agree... the only other smallville finale i've hated was the end of season 4 w/ the whole jane seymore cougar thing being a witch and the whole magic thing was just idiotic.  How hard is it to show Green Arrow and his crew taking on doomsday and losing really bad.... I mean come on, they've done so many fake explosions in this show that they could've spent the time to do this one right.

also very pissed about henry james olsen... really, i think i'm gonna delete all my smallville episodes.

Re: Season Finale [Spoilers]

To me it appeared that multiple scenes were missing. The script kept jumping all over the place.
Want to see a REAL finale?? Watch CSI NY 525.

Re: Season Finale [Spoilers]

Well that was predictable...and asinine! Smallville writers are probably the worst writers in the history of scriptwriting.

Once again as soon as a character had learned about Clark's real identity, they killed him off : I'm refering of course to Jimmy Olsen (btw, nice disrupting of the franchise's continuity on that one)

Not only does the drama suck ass and look like it was written by a bunch of twelve year-old girls but they can't even follow their own plots : Wasn't Chloe supposed to be a meteor freak and be able to cure people with her tears? Gee, that would have been useful for Jimmy but I guess they had to kill off characters to save some money. Or maybe, I'm wrong, I can't tell anymore with people switching sides and abilities every week.

Also, I can't believe how many crappy comebacks they come up with on this show. Especially Chloe who talks like a retard most of the time. Special mention, also, for Lois and her lame sexual innuendos.

Good thing is, I really laughed my ass off watching this season and it's great way to learn the fine art of scriptwriting as the example of what NOT to do... They surpassed themselves in stupidity this year and trully deserve an award...

Hey, THAT'S AN IDEA!! We should have some N-E awards smile

First...I don't believe Olsen is dead....historically smallville writers tend to go all over the map but they tend to like tryingt to return things to the comic book roots.

The legion is there and they can Time travel, I tend to think they are still a part of this....Zod is obviously back and they never really said Clark killed the evil half.

He simply said he escaped before the explosion...I am thinking there will be a time travel scenarion here where they reset things and Olsen is ok and never knows of Clark's secret.

The writers do tend to stumble but somehow through most seasons they seem to pull it back together.

Re: Season Finale [Spoilers]

A suckass finale to cap off a suckass season.  Colour me disappointed.

Lets hope season 9 is a hell of a lot better - and if it isn't, lets hope season 9 is the last, because prolonging the agony of this show's death is painful for anyone who's been a fan since the beginning.

Re: Season Finale [Spoilers]

maybe i'm the only one that saw this but i was thinking that because he was named Henry James Olsen (from the funeral) and his brother was James Henry Olsen (or something) so the comic book story line was preserved.  Yeah it was kinda cheezy how he passed on jimmy's camera like that.

I just think the whole time travel thing is wack... Clark had to go to the future before when he had to reset the timeline after the whole he got outed by the Tori Spelling character.  I say he had to go to the future so they could send him back the day before.  Problems with the time line woulda been revealed then.

Chloe not healing jimmy is a good point... she proabably woulda ended up dead for a week but wtf jimmy would still be alive.

And to what really pisses me off.  From a true comic book point of view... if your gonna fight a epic bad guy, you dont just do it on your own.  All you need is a decent super hero team up and crisis averted.  Lana coulda came back and ripped on Doomsday a little.. or even KARA, i'm sure green arrow would be keeping tabs on a hottie like that.  Or any of the other heroes in the series, they cant all be saving the world.

Guess they just didn't have enough funding, or enough imagination for that matter.

Re: Season Finale [Spoilers]

yeah the fight between dooms and clark was frustratingly short...come one it has to be the shortest fight in smallville history, the fight between clark and the bee girl was even longer.
And i think the same thing as poncherello, the kid olsen is probably the future jimmy olsen in the comic books, but ill guess time will tell

O Plaxico, Where art thou?

Re: Season Finale [Spoilers]

Lois is still off in the future, right? which means that some sort of time travel thing will undo all the stupidity of that episode when she returns.

probably right Robcore and maybe we'll see the fight as it should have been

Chloe lost her ability to heal when she was "infected" by Braniac.  First of all it turned into "super-intelligence" and then when she was "cured" of Braniac she lost the lot.  She's just a regular human now.

Re: Season Finale [Spoilers]

Well from my perspective it wasn't the weakest finale, but definately not the strongest (not even close). I think poncherello might be right that they have serious budget restrictions (despite the fact that this is CW's most successful scripted show).

I didn't watch it until now... damn!?
This season has been pretty slow at times, and than they just rush the finale like this?! Why?
When the funeral scene showed up, I was like: - What the hell just happened? What about CK and Doomsday??Are they still fighting, a week later?
I realized that it was it, and WTF!?

There was only one good thing about this episode, and that's Lois... It's gonna be really interesting to see where she went, and what she will know once she gets back.... Problem is, that they will probably wait half a season, before introducing her again...
