Re: Features/Improvements Requests
if you really want to know, drop me a message... perhaps you can even help me little bit out and give me some ideas.

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
Hey, i love you guys. You're all so eager to help and ive never seen a coding team so happy and dedicated to a project before, its really refreshing.
I was thinking of the firefox extensions/opera widget/google gadget/OSX widget, and what would make things easier would be some sort of XML/RSS output from the watchlist. I can understand it would be a lot of work, but it would benifit in the long run i'm sure.
I had a little look around for one but doesn't mean there it isn't there, so slap me silly if you have already done it.
Hope all goes well

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
On a similar note, would it be possible to set it up to view anyones watchlist? Would be interesting to see what other people are watching.
Again, obligatory comment about looking but not finding, and huge appology for taking up your time
Re: Features/Improvements Requests
I thought I should maybe explain that some more. I can think of some great instances where people could swap watchlists and find what common interests they share.
Also 'profiles' could be built, say so someone could create a user and watchlist of the currently running Sci-Fi shows, or dramas, or whatever category, and share it with people who like that genre.
Maybe I'm tooting my own horn, but I'm quite excited about it already
Re: Features/Improvements Requests
Shows Aired since Yesterday
Shows Aired since you last logged in to site
and my most desired...
Direct link to torrents for each episode
- scan several sites and allow us to input a filter: file name, file size, etc
- direct link to tvRSS.net for that show
Re: Features/Improvements Requests
@knuckleskin - yep, such thing will be implemented (both some kind of a feed and the profile/watchlists thing)
@Livin - I'm not so sure about the torrents, not that I care about the legal side here, but there are plenty of sites to download torrents from, if you only setup your search engines in here for example for torrentz.com, you'll have an almost direct link for downloading the torrents
Re: Features/Improvements Requests

- direct link to tvRSS.net for that show
i second that. tvrss.net has probably the best overview of torrents for shows (including from which release group does the torrent come and so on). but nevertheless santah's right with setting up your search engine...

please point me to info on this or explain?
I think it would be a convience to the users to only need to keep the Watch List updated and have it automatically link to the torrents for those shows/episodes. Maybe I'm the only one that would like to see a single site to track shows and DL them. Right now I frequent several sites to get what I need and was using tv.com still for episode info... your site is fantastic, I love the layout much better then any other I've seen... it is only missing torrent links.
just my $0.02
Re: Features/Improvements Requests
Ah, so the Watchlist links directly to the torrent? I like the idea, but I would be worried about the effect it would have on the community, attracting less scrupulous people.
Maybe a compromise could be to link to your default search engine directly from the watchlist.

That is nice. It seems you already have the mechanism in place to do the search... so I guess my feature request just makes it an auto-search based on the Watch List. The User may have to set a few parameters... like the site they want to use (MiniNova. TorrentSpy, etc) or the distro group (EZTV, LOL, etc : unless you just display a drop-down list with all items returned).
This would really make your site a one-stop-shop!
Re: Features/Improvements Requests
Livin wrote:... or the distro group (EZTV, LOL, etc ...
That's almost impossible. And EZTV and LOL are totally different types. EZTV is distro and LOL is ripper
"almost impossible" are some strong words... are you a coder? Nothing personal but I sure hope not becasue it is VERY possible! Using RegEx is one way and a very powerful one at that.
One very nice example of what I'm hoping we get on this site is... http://tvrss.net/search/
I'd think that is hould be fairly easy for an advanced coder (which I'm not) to be able to send the Watch List items as a search to tvrss.net and scrape the results into this site for our choosing.
I use tvrss.net currently; using an rss consolidator and have the results sent to me in email. It is a bit of work to get running and maintaining it as shows change is a PITA. This is why I'm asking for the feature here.
so... PLEASE!
Re: Features/Improvements Requests
Well I actually did not mean that's impossible to regex an feed, but to decide which torrent you like to link to.
Just think of all the groups, proper, real proper, repack, different tracker and of course quality versions like HR <-> normal, HDTV <-> PDTV <-> DSR ...
There is really no regex that could keep up with all these issues. And had to analyse all the feed more than once. The waiting time for 'your' torrents can be everything from one week before the actual airdate to several weeks after. So if you can implement a algorithm that can read your mind and see into the future - well - than it's possible.
But I have to admit that there could be some kind of spider algo that analyzes on demand all feeds and gives you the results as a list of all matches.
If there is a volunteer to code that - step up
Have a nice day
Re: Features/Improvements Requests
On demand... exactly. The items for your Watch List would only be pulled from tvrss.net when you choose to view the torrents. I could care less about the filtering too... even if it pulled all the items from tvrss.net and listed them like tvrss.net does, that would be fine. There are not that many to choose from anyway.
I'm thinking the masterful creator of this site would be best at building this into the site... not a noobie like me!
Re: Features/Improvements Requests
i would love some more integration with rvRSS... it's a great site which indexes all needed torrent sites to show only the relevant in one place.
perhaps when santah finishes his rewriting and there's some more time, i would love to have a look at it.
Re: Features/Improvements Requests
sure, thanks Caboto
Re: Features/Improvements Requests
I also think the arashi's and karenbear's lists shouldnt be on top along with the main categories, seeing they haven't been updated for 3 weeks now for example.
Also extend the website on the side (why leaving blank sides for 1024*768 users ? not so many people still live at 800*600 nowadays)
Maybe that could be done by letting use choose the css settings.

Exactly my words one year ago. There wasn't much of a change yet. Maybe now is the right time
Re: Features/Improvements Requests
v2 of next-episode will have an option for users @ bigger resolutions
Re: Features/Improvements Requests

nice!
Any idea when we'll get to see the new creation?
This site is very useful and with the integration of direct links to tvRSS it will be invaluable!
Re: Features/Improvements Requests
Probably in about 15-20 days a *beta* will be online
