Topic: 4x13 The Oath ** SPOILER WARNING **
Ok, was that one of the best BSG episodes or what? What a way to end the episode - I could just hear the thousands of BSG fans shouting NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! at the prospect of waiting another week for the outcome lol. Starbuck kicked fraking ass in that episode - loved it when she said "feeling right for the first time in weeks" after saving Lee's bacon - she's a great character. Next week's is looking like an action-packed episode - to quote the musical compositor on BSG : Believe it or not, The Oath is actually smaller and less action-packed than next week’s Blood on the Scales. This episode focuses on the conspiratorial factions at work in the shadows that lead eventually to full-scale combat. I knew I needed a musical approach that would capture the hurried, frantic energy of the episode, but that would also be adaptable into the epic cues necessary next week.
Woohoo! This is gonna be a long week's wait...

hell yeah this was a fine episode. what i'm interested in next weeks episode is the survivor count. i want to know how many were killed in that rebellion. this episode showed #39 643 survivors. and this i don't understand. that baltars follower chick who saw how vice-president killed a man, why didn't she report of it to anyone. what a bitch.

Re: 4x13 The Oath ** SPOILER WARNING **
I must admit, I'm getting more and more unsure of how they're going to end it all?! Where is this going? For the first time EVER following BSG I'm beginning to doubt if I like where this is going. I feel like they are going to end this in a way that does not suit the series, in a way. Don't get me wrong, I like the episodes, but I'm worried they'll blow the totality of the all. Am I being blashemous? Am I the only one who feels this way?

Re: 4x13 The Oath ** SPOILER WARNING **
Hmmmm.... When we started out the main objective was to sort out the whole human vs. cylon thing. Then it was about finding earth and revealing the remaining cylons. What are we aiming for now? To see if we end up ruling with or without cylons? If we find a new planet to inhabit? I fail to see what answers we have left to find, what problems to resolve? Does that make any sense?

Re: 4x13 The Oath ** SPOILER WARNING **
methinks the answer we are 'aiming for' may an existential one... not so much a plot based one... given the revelations we've had about the whole nature of things in the last few episodes, and the fact that there is still a movie to come... introducing an 'objective' at this point would be, erm... pointless...

Well, in my mind there are many unanswered questions that need resolving - Starbuck, who/what is she? Saul & Six's child? Cylon Cavil, surely he will make an appearance at some point? I hope they will aim to tie up some of those loose ends I think what has happened in the last two episodes is inevitable considering what they found on Earth - a rebellion was on the cards.

My point exactely, but whether it is existential or plot-wise, there are still some answers to come. And I feel like I'm a part of the Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy, will I end up with an answer to a question I didn't know I had? I do have a lot of faith to the crew behind BSG, but at this moment I find I'm not sure I agree with how they plan to end this.

I know, I know. I'm trying!!! It's just that we have waited for the ending of this for so long. And half of the fun with BSG has always been discussing what we think will happen next? (Me and my collegues are already dreading the end: What to discuss in our lunchbreak when BSG finally finish?! ;-) ) I was really looking foreward to a show to end in a proper way for once. They could control this from start to finish. But I do very much enjoy every single episode, I take it with my morning coffee every Saturday, now even on a 40 inch!

Ah yes, Saturday morning breakfast and BSG - a veritable institution But I always wait for the 720p version to appear so at times it's actually bedtime and BSG!

my point is, that their (i.e. the fleet's) "pointlessness" has a point

This pointlessness is why there is a riot going on and some killed themselfs We (the viewers) knew instantly that they will find earth, but then we got shocked when earth was dead. Now we are in the same situation as the people in the fleet. This show is really realistic IMHO. I expect it exactly this way to happen I think we look forward to a great finale of season 4 part 2, but if it's happy or sad has yet to be determined

It think it will be a sad one, dunno why, it's just a gut feeling. For those that missed it, here is a really good article on Season 4 Part 2 as it talks with the director and writers and explains their thought processes some what: http://featuresblogs.chicagotribune.com … -dee-.html

Actually, she did - the reason Tyrel was busy preparing Baltars escape when the President arrived to use the wireless broadcast system was because she told him what she had seen on the hanger deck... he says when speaking to Baltar: I only know what Jean saw... the hanger deck's gone, CIC, weapons are next... and then nobody's safe

exactly. And I also have this gut feeling that it will not end good, which would be kind of cool since almost every show has a happy ending. That, with the one difference that it will end bad "morally" in some way (as a parabole for the real humankind's fate) not "physically" (i.e. everyone ending up dead or something). This would be the most believable ending and, as the series runs on that, IMO the most probable one.

Re: 4x13 The Oath ** SPOILER WARNING **
In all fairness though, (it's in the same situation as Lost) will any ending be good enough to do it all justice? (And I imagine I'll be eating my words in 8 weeks or so )

Re: 4x13 The Oath ** SPOILER WARNING **
I totally agree. I cannot picture an ending that will do it all justice, especially not now after these 3 episodes... But hopefulle they will prove med wrong! Nothing will make me happier! Another thing: is it true what I've heard, that the upcoming movie will inn all be about the Adamas before it all happened? As sort of a bridge to the Caprica-series?

Re: 4x13 The Oath ** SPOILER WARNING **
from what i understand the upcoming movie, 'the plan', will deal with the lead up to the caprica bombings from the perspective of those humans we now know to be cylon... which will be interesting... as long as it is respectful of what comes after it... or is that before... ... and they have a plan... we never did find out what that plan was, only that it changed...
