No dates have been announced yet but reruns are scheduled until 9/15, so I guess it's sometimes after that.

I'm usually not a fan of this type of comedy shows, but somebody pointed me to BBT and I must say it's a new favourite!

Re: Anyone with some info?
The Big Bang Theory is one of the funniest shows around. The humor is a bit 'upscale', so I guess it won't last long. It requires some thinking to get the jokes at times, that's why I love it ! What would make it even funnier would be to get rid of the 'laugh track'. I don't need it to tell me when to laugh. And Penny, the next door neighbor is a REAL BABE, another reason to watch.

It's my new favourite show. Chuck Lorre is behind also another one of my favourite shows...Two and a half men. And also Dharma and Greg... He's a genius...
...where did I put that rat's ass I could give?
Daemons are benevolent or benign nature spirits, beings of the same nature as both mortals and gods, similar to ghosts, chthonic heroes, spirit guides, forces of nature or the gods themselves.

I do hate the laugh track.. it's the only annoying thing in lots of good shows...! Why do they need to use that?

Re: Anyone with some info?
You have to remember that the laugh track is for all the americans that don't know when to laugh. It's a known consensus that all 'light-entertainment' shows are aimed at the lowest common denominator in terms of audience intelligence (Certainly in the UK and US). That being said and without pandering to any stereotypes, the american sitcoms are aimed lower than most - which is hard with BBT as some of the jokes are quite high level. In short, live with it.! (I'm sure I'll be flamed for this - but it's true)

Re: Anyone with some info?
To me, the laugh track isn't a cue to laugh, but a cue when to stop laughing. Without it I'll occasionally laugh through a follow up joke or two. When the laugh track stops, it's time to listen again. I rather enjoy it too, since I watch a lot of shows alone...it feels like someone else is getting the jokes too. lol. -Rob

Re: Anyone with some info?
Yeah, there's nothing wrong with laughing alone...but it's not like the laugh track detracts from the show at all. I find a lot of Brit-coms feel sort of hollow without the laugh track actually...there are exceptions, but it's like when I'm with friends and one of them unintentionally says something totally hilarious, and I'm the only one that gets it. Standing there with a bunch of people that carry on as though nothing happened...kind of like in the clinic parts of the last House ep. They say something so outrageously dumb that it feels weird to be the only one getting it. It worked without a laugh track on House because the joke was all about being the only one to get the humor. In the BBT, it's usually everyone getting the joke except for Sheldon. -Rob

Yes, I remember when I was younger, I could not stand background laughter.. but now I'm use to it, so it doesn't really bother me.... but it's still not a good thing.

They probably do. I can't stop thinking about this quote from Sg-1 episode 200. Mitchell says: -Never underestimate your audience. They're generally sensitive, intelligent people who respond positively to quality entertainment.

Re: Anyone with some info?
I'm pretty sure I remember reading a study showing that audiences perceive shows as funnier when the canned laughter is included. Its an old study, who knows if the protocols were robust, but I'm sure that's why they persist in including it.

It is probably one of my favorite episodes... the 200th episode that is This one is also pretty good, from the 100th episode:
Raymond 'Ray' Gunne: I'm Christian Bocher. I'm portraying the character of Raymond Gunne, who portrays the character of Dr. Levant which is based on the character, uh, Daniel Jackson, portrayed by the actor Michael Shanks, originally portrayed by the actor James Spader in the feature film.

Re: Anyone with some info?
Oh yes... there are way to many awesome quotes from that episode... Dr. Daniel Jackson: Who makes a movie out of a series that only lasted three episodes? Teal'c: It allegedly performed well on DVD. I so wish there will be more Firefly movies!

True.. if you watch a movie or something with friends, you might laugh because they laugh... sometimes you even laugh at them If you laugh by your self, you know that shit is funny!
