Jackie Price has been living a luxurious existence for the last twenty years - travelling the world, selling fine art using sophisticated tax loopholes, and, above all, trying to stay anonymous after escaping a dangerous past as an international cocaine dealer. But just as life starts to feel a little boring, it takes a sudden lethal turn when she discovers The Seven Demons, a squad of the world's most terrifying hitmen, have been hired to kill her. Assuming someone from her past is behind it, Jackie unleashes her old instincts and embarks on a wild, dangerous game plan: to take down The Demons one by one before they kill her. However, she soon realises her own demons are much more terrifying than the ruthless killers on her trail... and her buried secrets ultimately lead her much closer to home, with surprising consequences.

Damon Thomas, who directed multiple episodes of https://next-episode.net/killing-eve, serves as the lead director and co-creator of Kill Jackie.

Tone and Style: Because of this shared talent, Kill Jackie draws heavy tonal comparisons to Killing Eve. Both blend dark comedy, sharp style, and intense action around dangerous, morally ambiguous characters.

The show deserves a better show image, but I couldn't find one.

I do like Jones, & I'll give anything a shot that has Perlman in it.  Trailer looks right up my alley, as a gun collector I'll watch anything that resembles gun porn

She was really gorgeous in that flick, absolutely stunning.

Like Jane Fonda in Barbarella 1968, some roles were just perfect for an actress or actor.

First episode was good.

Love her character - she hasn't lost a step smile
Story is pretty straight forward, don't think the twists and turns will be that much of a surprise at the end.

The little bit of CGI we get is horrible lol - like 20+ years old horrible.
Also had to use subtitles...so hard to understand what she is saying - but I don't think that's her fault.

Bonus points for Karenina. Checked that she is a Danish actress. You see, it's not mandatory to try to speak in Russian and make my ears bleed (like it again was in Slow Horses) big_smile

Edit:  Ohh, I liked that a lot!  And it was a treat seeing Daniel Ings again.  Loved him in The Gentlemen (Freddie) and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms (Ser Lyonel Baratheon).

I don't know, 6.3 for Kill Jackie isn't really low is it?  Not by my standards I guess.  Maybe viewers tuned in expecting some girl boss character like in Atomic Blonde & were disappointed by a more nuanced, fleshed out character.  Carrie at 6.9 was mostly 10's but had 17% giving it a 1 rating.  You really hate something to give it a 1 which makes me think this reaction might be ideological vs actual show quality.  Pierre is very similar in that most scores are 7, 8, & 10's but there's a LOT of 1's to offset the higher rankings.  I'm looking forward to checking it out, guess I'll find out then what's really going on.🤷

Halfway through the season...

Must say, a rating from 6-7 is becoming accurate.

The story relies very heavy on two factors which I don't really like:

Poltergeist is a very cheap plot device to get her everything she needs...

The Seven Demons are a joke, nothing professional or frightening about them at all.

That it is, and it has a lot going for it.

But, for the show to work however I need the bad guys to be a little bit more threatening.

When the head Demon said "you are not a whale, you are a dolphin" to the guy who started the hunt, I almost thought we were dealing with the B-team of Demons - that would've explained a lot to me....but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Same with Poltergeist. Super secret bank (!) shouldn't not be hackable by an assassin...what even is Karenina? Just another plot device who apparently can do anything - just like Poltergeist.
For her I would have understood if she went and kidnapped a world-class hacker and do this for her, but no she did it herself??

So yeah, story is funny, characters are great and likeable...but worldbuilding is bad, very bad imho.
