Re: Neagley

I still have one more episode to watch. Ironic (?) that

▼Spoiler

with all the crime surrounding it, the drug helped Neagley regain memories.

I'm really glad that

▼Spoiler

they didn't trot out the sexual assault trope as the reason for her touch avoidance.

It happens and it's serious, but it's also not the only cause of trauma.

Love Keno the brave and humorous sidekick, of course.

Season 2 storyline is already written, but as of today, Prime Video has not yet officially renewed the show.

Just as a thought experiment, do you guys think a Reacher/Neagley crossover-type series would work? What I mean is a single combined storyline which would alternate POV and action depending on which show you were watching, with the 2 main characters crossing over as smaller parts in the other show to help tie it together, and a single combined extended length finale (say 90 minutes). Or am I evil for even suggesting such a thing?

American kids learn the mnemonic HOMES for the Great Lakes. By Executive Order it's now SHAME.
Bravo.

Re: Neagley

Halfway through the season.

I must say, I don't really vibe with the story either.
So far they haven't managed to make me care enough for both what's going on on the farm and with Neagley.
I do like the action though, and of course Neagley herself - but these are the only reasons I am still watching tbh.

I always wanted a franchise to do something like this smile
I think this could've worked early on, but now with Reacher already at Season 5 - not sure. Would be a big change in format and release - especially since both shows have (for whatever reason) different release-models.

Storywise it would make sense if someone else from their old unit is targeted and they both try to help independently at first and meet up at a certain point and then start working together.
So the "mission" is the same, two shows with two different leads start off investigating and at a pivotal moment they merge together.

Deserved more runtime:
Abbys | Dead Like Me | Devs | Firefly | Gangsta. | Jack of all Trades | Kevin (probably) saves the World | Lodge 49 | Mrs. Davis | NYC 22 | Powerless | Roadkill | Special Unit 2 | Stumptown | Surface | The Brave | The Crazy Ones | The Finder | The Middleman | Truth Seekers | Two Weeks to Live | Whiskey Cavalier

Yes! If Prime really wanted to do this, they could instead start us with an extended episode/TV movie, then just do the seasons as above. Viewers would already be invested so the format change would more likely be accepted.

Re: Neagley

I'd dig it.  You see it about once per season with the 'Chicago' franchise having a cross over from

  • Chicago Fire {the crime happens and people hurt}

  • Chicago Med {the injured people get treated}

  • Chicago PD {the crime gets investigated}

And all the shows have cast from the other shows crossing over so it feels like one big 3eps movie.
I would enjoy seeing it with Reacher/Neagly doing it on the weekly release schedule for both.

Reacher was already established with background.  Now they have Neagly established.  We know her foundation story so they don't have to entangle that with the plot.  I think it would make a full cross-over season flow a lot faster now without having to keep giving background on Neagly

Re: Neagley

Finally through with the season.

I must say, not as good as I expected. 6/10

The personal trauma stuff didn't add anything to the story or to the character. If they had to add something to her character I'd rather have her being a socially awkward nerd or something...
It also ruined the scenes with her father which could've been heartfelt instead of being confrontational.

▼Spoiler

Yeah the handshake at the end was nice, but that's about it.

Her not really giving a sh*t about Keno was really annoying. If it weren't for Renee she would've probably forgotten about him until she needed something...

Action was decent, story was meh...

Re: Neagley

Hmmm, doesn't appeal to me. Lost interest during the second half of the first episode. Somehow feels cheap and uninspired.

Re: Neagley

I like it so far. Expected a bit more, but I'm okay with what it is.

With her personal trauma out of the way I do look forward to this, maybe Season 2 won't have so much "baggage".

+1

I don't mind what they did so far, but now they are free to explore other things...
