Re: Features/Improvements Requests
In the same line of thought - doable (with the partial info we have), but not enough to make sense as a feature users can rely on (we'll have it colored differently for some season finales - that we know of - and not for others that we don't).

That data is available for about 100% of my shows, I'd welcome such a feature. Enabling it in the settings could come with a disclaimer about its possible imperfection.

I checked. For you, it's a little under 85% of the shows. For my watchlist - it's 68%. Also, I ran the numbers for all users active in the last 48h, and here is the distribution (we're counting % shows with season order out of all shows in their watchlist that have a next episode date): % of shows with season order | share out of all users in the last 48h
-----------------------------+---------------------------------------
0% | 3.0%
1-24% | 2.9%
25-49% | 11.4%
50-74% | 39.2%
75-99% | 32.6%
100% | 10.8%
In addition to that, 25.3% of all active shows with a next episode have a known episode order.

Just a reminder that theTVDB.com does not scrape. It relies on user input, as does themoviedb.org. I've had to add shows/movies myself to get them listed here. I have no info on TVMaze.

Minor recommendation. In the notifications list, can you color code the different notifications. Examples (colors are suggestions, can be voted by users): Cancelled shows (Red) New Shows Added or Trailer Added (Green) Shows Ressurected (Yellow) Site Updates (Blue) Makes it easier to spot notifications, I prefer to see the New Shows Added, Trailers Added or Site Updates. I don't really pay attention to Cancelled/Ended shows as I know from other news, also Ressurected shows tend to be on the news.

Thanks for the suggestion Sokpan, I'll keep it in mind. Btw - if you don't care about certain types of notifications - simply turn them off ...

Thanks Santa. That is the problem. I want them all, just would like to easier see the ones I am mostly like to read immediately. Of course I could just extend my AI to read your email notifications and alert me. 😁

sharing images / stories / cards . for the show, or for our rating with the site pub. Its a cool trend for we to share with our friends and followers. this is an example not intended to make pub : https://ibb.co/zWJdQ98c https://ibb.co/1JjGTh4r

santah wrote:Hey there and thanks for the kind feedback! Hellscream wrote:just the final episode is listed as a full season. I guess it would be good if it also included mid season breaks.
Problem is - we don't really know when the season is "full" (or when a show is in a season break). For such feature to work - we need a reliable and automated way to fetch that info (episode order), per show and per season for enough shows so that users can rely on that. We have it for some shows, but it's a small subset of all active shows we have on Next Episode. For now, unfortunately, there is no way to obtain that info ... Cheers!
I'm a little confused...the information used to populate the "8 (of 8 ordered)" part of each show's page should be enough to mark a season as still in-progress or complete. If the issue is that the source for that information doesn't necessarily mean that all the episodes for a season "have been ordered", I still think it would be accurate in most cases.

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
the information used to populate the "8 (of 8 ordered)" part of each show's page should be enough
Shows with mid-season breaks Usually do not have (of # ordered) info during the 1st sequence, even on web searches. I know wikipedia as well as IMdb sometimes shows a placeholder for the episodes but lacks info about them...plus the number shown sometimes changes due to modifications of the of the final season sequence. I think what happens is the production company is unsure of the total season episodes duer to ratings tanking or crew contracts expiring. Plus there may be issues with writing the remaining episodes based on how effective running plot elements are liked. On Topic: When building a custom movie list is there a way for the user to add a Header featuring an image and a paragraph or two of description? Example: LongNights Horror~Thon WatchList
~~WARNING~~ These films may not be suitable for small children or families. Use your own discretion This watchlist includes Blockbusters, Mockbusters & Bargain Bin movies. There's Oldies, Classic, Forgotten, TV Movies & Miniseries. A varied range of themes include (but not limited to)... Slashers, Abductions, Deadly Animals, Psychos, Serial Killers, Revenge, Vampires, Zombies, Mutants, Werewolves, Mummies, Mad Doctors, Alien Invasions, Alien Creatures, Alien Abductions, Monsters, Creature Features, Mutant Animals, Kaiju, Infections, Isolation, Murderers, Ghosts and more... There's Myths, Legends, Prophecies... Bloodlines Horror, Science Horror, Action Horror, Sports Horror... Most Holiday-Themed movies will be identified as such; Halloween horror, Thanksgiving horror, Christmas horror, New Year's horror and so on... You can also find Snow & Ice, Heat & Sand, Oceans, Rivers & Lakes, Space and Time based movies.

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
Hey Santah, I love all the amazing work but I'm missing some things I find useful and important with regards to privacy and security. I'm missing any way to enable 2 factor authentication. I'm also missing the ability to see what devices I have logged in on and when (make the list immutable or please put it behind 2fa). There have been several large data-leaks in my country and I feel like relying solely on an email-address and password has gotten too unsafe nowadays. If I could see logins and from which devices, I could catch it should some hack/enter my account.

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
I mean, I understand your point, but for me NE basically has the least important data of any site I'm logged into. This is no shade to santah or the site, it's just not in the same class as corporate emails (for example). There's nothing anyone could do with my access, aside from annoying me, so I see no real motivation for anyone to want to hack anything here. Of course, aside from just to wreck things, and then they'd never choose random users. Personally, I loathe needing MFA for anything unimportant, so I would hate it with a burning passion if santah implemented it globally and mandatory, but if it's an option I can choose to ignore, then I'm all for it.

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
I agree with ArniVidar, there is no need for 2FA on this site. If you want a bit more security, use a separate email address for every login you use - never use the same one twice. Many email providers these days have options for this.

I meant it as an option one can enable on their profile or something. It being an option is also what I'm most used to. Data can still be stolen and used to do profiling, if I'm protecting and securing my data, having this leaked and what I've watched is a golden ticket to profile what I like, probably what age I am, probably what gender I am, probably what country I live in. Also I'm concerned about potential trolls wrecking my shows watched (we have had too many large data leaks over the last 2-5 years in my country).

I can see the point about online threats but I do agree a TV show tracker is not really a great profiling tool. I seriously doubt there is a threat that way to anyone....anywhere. There's much better profiling info available elsewhere for someone wanting to hack someone.

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
I initially thought, "No need", but now I think I'd like the option. Profiling has become so insidious and although I love the idea of an email address for each account, I'm not up to implementing it. On the other hand, it won't bother me much if 2FA is not added to this site.
