A lot of total bs and American coping happened big_smile At one point I started to root for our irl mortal enemies - Russians big_smile

In general I cringe when I see any wannabe heroic American stuff, especially in Ukraine context, because it's a war where Americans pussied out. Especially how they talk, that fake af toughness as if you have for 3 weeks defended Mariupol, while drinking water from radiators, evading 500kg bombs dropped on you and firing rocket launchers from windows to tanks. STFU.

At some point was used the word "inept" big_smile You know what is inept? When you for years know what weapons systems your opponent has, but you are so inept that your command centers are in cardboard boxes and Shahed drone arrives and lights it up like nothing. In 2026. That's inept smile Or dropping F18's in the sea etc. big_smile

That said Zoe Saldaña still is great in this show.

s03e05...
we got a nice little start...but then it quickly turned into blah blah blah and yet another meeting of the brass...So. Much. Meetings. Do we have to get an exposition dump in every episode?

Spoiler

When Kyle started listing databases he has access to and where he can find information...i thought my head would explode..what was that? Embarrassing to watch to say the least.

They could've made it less obvious that they were in Texas...license plates + flag? Why not make it something that they want to hide from her and she finds it out using her skills or something?

Re: Lioness (aka: Special Ops: Lioness)

I just saw it as a way to verbal cut through the game playing of...

I'm a good guy, you're mistaken.
{20 bits of gradual back and forth}
bad guy still feels his cover is holding up
{eventually good guy states why he knows better}

Kyle just jumped to the end of that 30 minutes of theatre while throwing down the weight of the international intelligence apparatus behind him; mic drop; knee capping the bad guy's training of how to stretch this out.

Not saying that's real life - but at least we didn't have to watch the same long-winded interrogation scene on every Chicago PD/FBI/NCIS show.  So I appreciated them cutting to the end.

I'm okay with the intent of a verbal hand grenade ending all the make-believe.

I agree with you.
It's just the specific way he listed the databases bothered me, not how he did it but the content of the conversation. This felt so lame and should've been cool to watch.

Re: Lioness (aka: Special Ops: Lioness)

Yeah, not counting Zoe Saldaña and few others, this by now became like a bad B movie

S03E06

Spoiler

Wannabe rambos, bored potato land operatives who freely operate, then a wild Ahmed appears, talks about villages, allegedly has spent 50-100m usd to capture some mid level cog nobody really cares about - why not board the international space station and kidnap some astronaut while you are at it? Then a noob moment that the rambo did  not check if the pilot is armed, etcccc.

And Estonia has one of the most advanced IRS on the planet, all under the total microscope to check Russia sanctions violations, but here is shown like it's a good idea to do some shady stuff there, when it is one of the worst possible ideas big_smile USA lives in a stone age compared to what they have (starting with the hilarious fact that 52% of USA population has no passports). My work involves compliance with financial requirements of diff countries, never have seen anywhere OCD and tech level as in Estonia.

Re: Lioness (aka: Special Ops: Lioness)

Just going to touch on one aspect of that.
Context: I've been to about 40 countries over 20 year in the performance of my work, ranging from Lebanon to Singapore, UAE, England and more.

> USA lives in a stone age compared to what they have (starting with the hilarious fact that 52% of USA population has no passports).

That's not stone age. That's geography.  That's having a country so large and diverse they really aren't needed.  You can travel from desert to beach to mountains to green plains all in one country.  And its a great country with no real feeling that we *need* to experience other countries. American's don't have to go to Italy to tour wine country, we have that.  We don't have to go to Switzerland to ski, we have that.  We don't have to go the Mediterranean for beach resorts, we have that.

I get it: If I were in London I'd be looking to go somewhere else too.  If I lived where most countries were the size of US states or smaller, then yeah I'd need a passport just so I can cross the river to go to Paris for a decent lunch or have to go to Germany because they have that great hobby shop with the amazing paint I like so much or they have the auto repair shop I trust with my car.

And honestly - the way so much of the world is being overrun - the *desire* to go to a lot of these countries is diminishing annually.  Every year there's more leaks about the UK gov't hiding their knowledge of Paki r@pe gangs and the numbers are climbing over 2m cases now.  Nobody sees that as a vacation destination.  Nor do they want to go to Paris and get harassed at a sidewalk cafe for having wine by a group of immigrants because its against Shiria.  Italy and Greece are in the news weekly with 40k at a time surging the borders.  Who is going out of there way to get a passport so they can go there when they can just as easily take a local flight to California Napa valley, or Big Bear or go to New England or Florida?

So no - its not about being in the stone age.
