Re: Episodes redesign, comments and suggestions

Please give an option to view the episodes as thy used to be in a simple compact way without the artwork etc.  I just hate it.  Too cumbersome it seems now and busy.  I liked the simple scaled view that took up little room and easy to view.

The old UI is still available on the bottom of the Episode list under "How to use".
Last entry there.

Deserved more runtime:
Abbys | Dead Like Me | Devs | Firefly | Gangsta. | Jack of all Trades | Kevin (probably) saves the World | Lodge 49 | Mrs. Davis | NYC 22 | Powerless | Roadkill | Special Unit 2 | Stumptown | Surface | The Brave | The Crazy Ones | The Finder | The Middleman | Truth Seekers | Two Weeks to Live | Whiskey Cavalier

This is kind of an old thread - the redesign of this section is already live for everyone.

Cheers

Re: Episodes redesign, comments and suggestions

Can episodes-to-watch be made location specific?

Some shows air overseas before being shown in the US (e.g., Fisk, Colin from Accounts, and most PBS shows). I live in the US (don’t judge 😊), so these type of shows indicate episodes are available to watch, but that is not true in the States.

Re: Episodes redesign, comments and suggestions

We get the air dates from TVMaze or TheTVDb (depending on the show) and they have the original air dates only.

It would be impossible to have air dates for every country in the world for every show.  Would you include re-airing dates too for example?

Thanks for explanation. Now I understand the issue.

No, I would not like to see every re-airing date. That would be very confusing.

I think if it was filtered to be location specific, the repeat dates would be fine - it wouldn't show up if you'd already marked it as watched.

But I'm under the impression that making this location specific isn't an easy problem to solve as the data isn't available.

@wizard do the different streaming services change as programmes appear on them? That might be a way to at least hide from the upcoming episodes list, episodes that aren't yet available on the selected streaming platforms. (it would probably also mean they would then never show as upcoming episodes, and simply randomly appear in Episodes, but maybe that could be a toggle?)

Re: Episodes redesign, comments and suggestions

Not one service will hold the data for every TV company in every country that would air shows.

There are just about 200 countries in the world.  How many TV companies in each country are there that could air a show?  Is all that data publicly available in one, easy to use, publicly accessible, API service?

A lot of show streaming rights also have clauses.  In the UK, NCIS is aired out of order as that was agreed as part of the licencing agreement.  How would that be tracked?
