after watching the movie i can say.... meh.
( that right baby, meh and im using "meh" only 10 years too late)
( what is hte new "meh" now???)

the stop motion FX was only marginally better then 1970s clash of the titans.
unless i got it confused with bottom of the barrel AI FX..

either way it looks poorly done. who accepted that level of FX?????

the story was mostly ok.  but not close to great.
pretty bad plot holes in it however.

Spoiler

mando can seal his helmet, but still gets taken out by a gas trap??

much of the show was made for 8-12 year olds who are developed like a 6-7 year old.
that is to say rich stupid and on the way to toys r us.

(every 7-12 year old i have ever known prefers to be treated like a 17-18 year old)
if they could have made the movie for 50 million then they would have a plan for the future.
but i bet that was not the case.

if disney can stop dumbing down its franchises it might have a profit to be proud of.

starwars should lift people up with a story for everyone, like fairy tales from the brothers grimm.

this was not that, but you can see the promised land from here. ( but still far far away).

it could have been a lot better as 10 almost hour episodes on tv.
the story felt shortened and yet filled with pointless time wasting parts.

Spoiler

who decided that grogu still played with buttons like a baby but could build a shelter and spin camo like survivalist nutbar

so many things felt like no one paid much attention to the 3 seasons of the show

Spoiler

mando has two new swords but grogu has no real weapons even though he trained with a light saber??

its supposed to be the star wars universe, not the star wars we make things up as we go like DC comics...

Bravo, I just said it was crap. And people did not believe me. I did not want to take the time and list everything.

But you sir nailed it. Thank you.

Re: The Mandalorian

yes it was crap.
but it is not explosive, pushing at your rectum in rush hour traffic, just after you picked up a $1000/hour esc***ort ( I HATE CENCORSHIT) who just said she will give you a discount right now, since traffic has you both boxed in, kind of crap.......

other ridiculous things that any 13 year old first time writer could fix in 8 seconds.

Spoiler

hutt spends years in the pit being the best fighter possible and cannot take 2 lazy fat hutts??
super secret imperial warlord in hiding from everyone still has his men in storm trooper gear years after fall of empire, even though they were universally hated and it labels him as imperial for everyone.
hutts completely legal and very well armed base at the center of their massive feared enterprise, is blown to dust by one squad of x and y wings with zero casualties.
and worse of all
NO ONE EVER HAS TO WAIT FOR THE NAV COMPUTER BEFORE FOR A JUMP TO HYPERSPACE LIKE THE WERE ALL DUSTING CROPS BACK HOME ON THE FARM LIKE BOYS..
( even in ships so old they are not on the imperial or any other registry)

There should be a higher bar for movies. and franchises should make as much effort as scooby doo does (most of the time)

almost forgot a huge storyline hole

Spoiler

mando said that as long as he killed everyone who saw his face he will not be disgraced., the BOUNTY HUNTER not only saw his face. he was the one who removed mandos helmet, and that bounty hunter escaped

Re: The Mandalorian

just realized

Spoiler

the cage fight with all the monsters were from the holochess/Dejarik game from the first trilogy between Chewbacca and r2d2

cute throwback but only hard core fans would notice... and i did not for the longest time.

makes the holochess game something other then "chess" and more of a digital bloodsport.

Re: The Mandalorian

Just watched the movie. I didn't think it was that bad but it definitely needed editing and there was no reason for it to be in theaters. Too much of it was cgi fighting cgi, which I expected, but I didn't expect it to look bad too. I'd have been mad if I'd paid to see it in a theater.
