Topic: TV Time user here, and starting to pull my hair out!

I just imported my TV Time files. I used the app since the first year it came out. I’ve spent two hours with Next Episode, and I’m still completely lost!

The GOOD- Next Episode looks like it has a lot of functionality. And importing my TV Time list of thousands of episodes (watched and unwatched) took mere seconds! I’m so excited… this is going to be a breeze, and I’m so glad I won’t lose my TV Time data when the app disappears! Whew! So I paid the annual fee, because something this easy is going to save me so much time!

The BAD- 2 hours in, and I’m just now understanding there are so many pages to just complete minor functions. I have to go to another page to see my Watched (episodes) History, that if i mark an episode as watched in error or just didn’t finish watching it, i can’t correct it on the same page as when I marked it as watched? Ahhhh! So… go to Watched History and then search for the show to correct (make sure I’m taking handwritten notes!). Lots of steps here.
I created a new List (titled “Eventually Watch”) so I can start reducing my huge file of shows in my Watchlist. I need to go to the page to delete it from my Watchlist, but to add the show to my newly created list “Eventually Watch”, I can’t do it from the same page, I have to go to my New List, search for my show, then add it. To do this i need to start keeping a handwritten list (paper and pen) because, lord, if I forget what I’m doing, it’s lost from my brain forever. Why can’t my new lists be shown on the main tv show page (where the option to remove show from main watchlist is located)???
There wasn’t a general HELP page (that I could find, yet), so now I have to cruise the Forum pages to search for my questions and answers. There’s no basic How To Use, that I’ve found (yet). Ahhhh. Sensing my tension, my cats ran out of the room to hide.

The UGLY- now I’m back to creating old fashioned chicken scratch lists so I can check off the processes needed to keep Next Episode up to date. This is where I start pulling my hair out. Why does this have to be so difficult?

They are. In the show details page, find the "Actions:" section. There is an "add to list"/in X lists button which pops up your lists for an easy toggle.

I'm not sure what exactly is the ugly here and what the problem is, can you please elaborate?

To me it sounds you're just used to a different workflow and Next Episode works in another way which would take some getting used to.

I'm around if you need help though.

Cheers!

I'm also here from TV Time. I think it might just be a matter of getting used to the new UI. I LOVED TV Time and I am struggling to figure out this site just based on how much more complicated it seems, but I'm sure it will be good once all of us TV Time users get used to it. smile

Also TV Time user, new here.  I just can't find a way to see only unwatched shows.  I keep seeing references to a filter, but the only filters I can find don't have that option.  I don't see a way in the app to mark a show as watched, maybe because I can't find a way to view unwatched shows.  So far, the web is better, but still no unwatched only view.  I see upcoming shows, but not shows in the past I haven't watched yet.

Help, where are these options?

Thanks.

Go to the Episodes tab/page. There, only unwatched series and episodes show up.

Cheers!

Thanks, yes that works on the web, I just see no equivalent in the app. I paid for the app upgrade, looks like I won’t be using it.

Is there a way to see the list in an episode-by-episode format, ideally in reverse-release date order?

Welcome to Next Episode and welcome to the Forum smile

Have you tried the [Expand All] / [Collapse All] option on the top of the list in combination with sorting by [Oldest Air Date] or [Recently Aired]. This should come close to what you are looking for.

Edited: If you are looking for a more compact list, you can also try out the Legacy UI - on the bottom of the list under "How to use" - click on the link at the last entry.

Deserved more runtime:
Abbys | Dead Like Me | Devs | Firefly | Gangsta. | Jack of all Trades | Kevin (probably) saves the World | Lodge 49 | Mrs. Davis | NYC 22 | Powerless | Roadkill | Special Unit 2 | Stumptown | Surface | The Brave | The Crazy Ones | The Finder | The Middleman | Truth Seekers | Two Weeks to Live | Whiskey Cavalier

That's much closer, so thank you very much.

But

I can only seem to find the "Expand/Collapse" when I'm on a full computer. Not seeing it in the app or on the web through my phone. (Legacy UI does not seem to meet my desire any better/worse than the original, so I'll stick with that)
