Your Friends and Neighbors, based on an original idea by Jonathan Tropper, revolves around Coop, a recently divorced hedge fund manager who, after being fired, resorts to stealing from the wealthy residents in his tony upstate New York suburb in order to keep his family's lifestyle afloat. The petty crimes begin to reinvigorate him until he breaks into the wrong house at the wrong time.

Episode 01 was great, looks very promising.

The premise is nothing new, your basic midlife-crisis escalating, but the setting and the characters make it work well for the show.
I think it's the kinda set-up every man - young, old, single, married or divorced - can relate to and that's what makes it all the more interesting.

Jon Hamm + Amanda Peet are perfect in their roles. Jon Hamm narating is the icing on top, that voice is just perfect for that.

If I had to complain about one thing it's the de-aging....it always gives me the creeps when I see it. What is wrong with hiring another actor who looks similar to the old guy? -
It also looked like they only did it to Jon Hamm, Amanda Peet didn't need no de-aging smile (she looks almost exactly like 20 years ago).

I've only watched the first 2 but I like it. I'm not sure why. It just feels like it setting the table for some serious drama. They have some really talented writer/s. The boss is a monster who is polite and insanely evil (the best kind). Everyone is very vivlized but I don't think that will last for long.

Simply, it could be great and it could be a bust. I'm gonna find out

Just watched Episode 04 and I think it's still going strong, love it.

Coop is just a great character. Even though everything goes to shit around him, he still keeps a cool head and doesn't show a hint of loosing control.

The writing especially is very good.

That scene in the car when Coop response to his daughter - that was one perfect piece of dialogue.

You would think you want Coop to flip out about all that happens, that it's unrealistic how calm he seems...but the fact that he keeps calm makes this all so much cooler than you could imagine.

Thinking about it, I would say this is a mature version of Weeds..

Jon hamm is great. The scene with his daughter in the car is so good I saved it.
It's low action, interesting and well presented.
However, the latest episode, 6, doesn't follow the story at all, or progress it. It is a meandering bag of sadness without meaning or depth. None of the usual shenanigans.
I wait eagerly for the next episode.

Season 2 was ok, not as good as Season 1 though.
Some good moments. Ending could've been better, a bit disappointing.

Season 1 was a 10/10 for me, S02 only 7/10.

The first season was better, but this still is a very good show, imo, solid 8/10.

The actual final of Season 2 was a bit better than what I thought was the final ( smile ), but still wasn't as good as Season 1.

Grace + Barney - would've wanted them to have that conversation. From the last conversation we saw between them I thought they were the "through thick and thin" kinda couple. Also I think Grace is the kinda person that would be able to handle all that.

Coop and Elena - really thought he would help her somehow, ffs just sell your car that would probably cover her debt.

Coop in general - I think it was 2 or 3 times in this season where he decided to "get his sh1t together" and than ended up only doing half-measures.

Mel's troubles with her neighbors just seem to have disappeared in the last episode...the dog "disappearing" does make her legal troubles disappear.

I stick with my 7/10.

i am on episode 6 s02 and i am finding it very fragmented with too many side stories.
its like it lost the main story of coop that i was interested in from season1

now there is a lot of crap i really don't care about.

so far its 5/10 for me up to this point.

they jumped the shark this season.
for me at least


i will not be back for them to try yet again to up the ante of the drama and  of the intrigue show

way too many side stories, way too many things that just were either filler to make 10 episodes
or they were writing so many side things to keep people with 30 second attention spans interested.

either way i only cared about maybe 40% of the show, 20% was mildly interesting above that.
that leaves 4 hours of unnecessary show time.  and that is the best estimate being generous.   

so 5/10 for entire show season 2
8/10 for the acting of everyone as a whole. they were all good actors.
8/10 for the writing, even the waste of time stuff was written well
2/10 for staying on story.
3/10 for unnecessary side quests and time filler
8/10 for no political bullshite
1/10 for no religious bullshite.  (full episode of that crap) ( i really have a low tolerance for propaganda in entertainment now)

if the main story and one side story is not keeping your attention........
you may not actually like the show it self

or your medication might need adjustment.
