Based on the Marvel Comic Spider-Man Noir, NOIR tell the story of an aging and down on his luck private investigator in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city's one and only superhero.

i am looking forward to this.
but i am also a glutton for punishment and have not learned
any lessons from previous disappointment.

Re: Spider-Man Noir

Who is watching it in colour and who in black and white?

DRM "manages access" in the same way that Prison "manages freedom".

Gonna watch it in color.

I associate modern movies/shows in black and white with "darker tones" which I kinda don't want to associate with Spiderman, even if it's the "Noir" version.

If this would've been a show about Rorschach from Watchmen I would've watched it in black and white.

Sounds weird, but that's my way to go about  it smile

Deserved more runtime:

Re: Spider-Man Noir

Watching in colour and i agree, cages mumbled voice is a downer but overall this might be the best series this year thus far.

Re: Spider-Man Noir

Halfway through the Season.

Story and characters are quite good, enjoying it so far.
I really like the directing and camera angles, they did a pretty good job in making it look "classic".

If Nic Cage would be 20 years younger, this would be perfect. Don't get me wrong he still got it, but the contrast of him as P.I. and as Spider-Noir is just too extreme. There wasn't a single transition where it looked believable that he is the Spider.
Not to mention the awful CGI they are using for the Spider...almost looks liks they did it on purpose smile

Background music is fine, could be better though.

i really wish they would stop using older famous people for live action comic shows.
get a great actor who fits the part and is HUNGRY to do the show.
people who really put their all into it..

it feels like netflix did that with their marvel shows
(but then maybe i just never knew those actors before then)
all of those actors just seemed to want to the parts as good as possible.
even the ones with poor writing. i could never blame the actors...

Robert John Downey Jr. was a washed up has been before ironman.

Re: Spider-Man Noir

I thought this was pretty good. Cage was too old for the role honestly. Watched it all in black and white and I thought it captured the old look pretty well, I'm sure in color it would've been a little off. I particularly liked how his movements were more 'spider-like' and there was an element of Kafka to transformation process.

Re: Spider-Man Noir

great show overall.
some things did not make sense
( the spider could flip and bounce but his alter ego could barely make it up the stairs or through a window??)
cat was mid at best, so even with her good acting, having her play
a knock out bombshell the spider falls for as first sight.... should at least made his ex look like her.
ben riely said he had to relearn to walk and talk like a human ( and he learned by watching movies)
but he was doing both just fine in the army medical tent with the general.

the script was very good if well worn from reuse, many of the plot points were very predicable.
some of the casing was not the best. cages choice of voice was poor at best, (really wtf was that voice)
but he played old and worn out well
the photography was excellent. as were the sets.

i expected more and less at the same time, so i was quite happy with this show over all.
in a week i will watch it in color.

Re: Spider-Man Noir

Gotta look into Andrew Lewis Caldwell who plays Dirk Leyden.
Very good performance in EP04+05 so far, and his voice is awesome.
