This show has always, from the very beginning been anti-Trump. A ton of media has been pretty anti-neo-nazi, to reflect on what absolute scumbag degenerates make up the pedophile supporters that make up his voting base.

Well, at least we know the subtlety is low enough now.

Oh no, we understood from the start. We just had more patience at that time, but those days are over I'm thinking

I just watch it for the gore. They have a way of making death seem interesting, kind of like that Final Destination.

Re: The Boys
Did earlier Seasons also do so much real-life namedropping? Or is it just this season? Don't remember. Totally takes me out of the immersion... First they mentioned Elon Musk and who not and with Episode 5... ▼Spoiler That poker party...that was the worst encroachment into this story I have yet to witness... Fine, have those actors sit there and do their thing - but ffs don't use their real names, just have them pretend to be rich junkies or whatever. The only good thing about that scene was when they were "replaced in space" by Mr. Marathon. Really sad because otherwise I really enjoyed the episode being split into different character's storylines - felt like the interlude before the final bang.

Yes, those "what the f**k" moments, totally agree. Same with Spartacus, Invincible, etc. - it just takes fantasy or fiction to another level sometimes.
Deserved more runtime: Abbys | Dead Like Me | Devs | Firefly | Gangsta. | Jack of all Trades | Kevin (probably) saves the World | Lodge 49 | Mrs. Davis | NYC 22 | Powerless | Roadkill | Special Unit 2 | Stumptown | Surface | The Brave | The Crazy Ones | The Finder | The Middleman | Truth Seekers | Two Weeks to Live | Whiskey Cavalier https://next-episode.net/user/WilliamDrakeMcGregor/

Re: The Boys
Well, the series finale...happened. If I had to describe this season in one word, it would be "boring". Sure, we had some good moments in there, but most of the Season felt like filler episodes. No real built-up to the big finale, no big "what-the-f" moments, nothing. The last Episode was ok. Overall this Season was as good & bad as Season 8 of Game of Thrones... Only difference is that with GoT we didn't get that much U.S. sociopolitical insertions... ▼Spoiler A-Train dying...did not care at all. The Deep dying...predictable, even the way they did it. Was clear the moment they landed on the beach. Frenchie dying was probably the biggest plot point of the whole season. Storywise it was the best decision to kill of one of them before the finale. But if you do something like that you highlight the character before it happened. Here it was too little imho. The emotional pay-off was not enough the way they depicted it. The Gen V characters were brought in too late. They could've helped with the breakout and whatever, just small parts. Or just leave them out entirely. The biggest plot point should've been Homelander getting the V1...yes, the goal was immortality, but it would also been cool to see a power-up...in EP07+08 they practically ignored that that even happened. Butcher's end was done pretty well, the last couple of scenes were peak of the entire season....but that was in great part thanks to Billy Joel

I dunno about comparing it to S8 GOT that was... epically bad. This was more of a meh. GOT Season 8 failed on like, every narrative level.

Re: The Boys
so there was a happy ending? The virus should have been released so the ending was a cop-out. good to see Homelander get his cumuppence though. I think Kripke thinks he is some one who sails close to the wind, but really taking the mickey out of Christianity was lame. Now he should have lampooned Islam that would have created a stir ( and a call for his death). Homelander as the return of Muhammad. Kripke is not the rebel he pretends to be

Re: The Boys
The last season was a Total waste of time. I have never seen a more stupid last season like this one my vote went from 4 to just 2 for the series.

Re: The Boys
Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't they just leave the virus where Butcher had put it.... its going to come out eventually and kill every supe on the planet right? Did they actually address that or did they just forget about it? Disappointing overall but they just had to prioritise making a mockery out of Trump..er..I mean Homelander. we all knew where it was going so it wasn't a surprise. I highly doubt the franchise will live past removing the only really engaging character in it... Damn Anthony Star did some heavy lifting in that one..he was the only thing in it worth watching for the past 4 seasons.

well, they did not show all the "clean up". just glimpses via the new channel. And I guss this wasn't necessary to show. proteinnerd wrote:Disappointing overall but they just had to prioritise making a mockery out of Trump..er..I mean Homelander. we all knew where it was going so it wasn't a surprise. All over, I can live with the end. Season 01 was great and after that it went downhill. But actually, I liked the last two episodes of the final season somehow.
