Topic: Question about how to "hide show from homepage" when using a tablet?
Again, and always, love this vital service. I also love the "hide XXX show from homepage" feature that I make good use of on a daily basis. When I'm home I always visit the website using a browser on my computer which has a mouse. As you know, to hide a show, I need to use the mouse to hover over the show name area in order to display the "X" icon which I can click on to hide the show. However, as you can see from the post topic, when I travel and bring my tablet, I have no mouse to use to hover over the show name area to display the "X" on which I can tap to hide the show. So, my question is, is there any implemented way that I can hide a show if using my mouse-free tablet? Thanks, Santa, for your attention and hopefully helpful solution. Leslie

Re: Question about how to "hide show from homepage" when using a tablet?
There is no implemented way to do this exactly for the reason you mentioned - that there is no mouse over on tablet/mobile. Making the X visible at all times is not ideal. So is making the user tap once, to reveal the X and tap a second time - to go to show details (for example). I'm open to ideas though ...

Re: Question about how to "hide show from homepage" when using a tablet?
Thanks for the quick reply. And I do understand your take on the situ Perhaps a possible solution can be add a new "hide" button to the show's main page, like maybe under the add/remove button?

Re: Question about how to "hide show from homepage" when using a tablet?
It's not ideal, though another "action" in the Actions row in show details is possible. I don't like it though. I'll figure out something better, but I need more time. Again - suggestions are welcome!

Re: Question about how to "hide show from homepage" when using a tablet?
Thanks so much for agreeing to continue to think about it May I ask, where is the Actions row in show details? Not clear about that. I also wonder, when on the main home page showing Today, Tomorrow, and Yesterday, since "hover over" is not possible, can the code determine that the user is browsing using a mobile device (phone or tablet)? If yes, then possibly remove the "hover over" trigger and simply always display the "X" for 1st season shows? Thanks for the continued consideration

Show details, for example: https://next-episode.net/rick-and-morty Ctrl+F Actions And yes, what you ask is possible, but it means it'll display the red X for all shows at all times (no reason to show them for the first row only). I don't like that idea. Cheers!

Oh, wow, I never notices that row of "actions" before. Yes, I think that would be very appropriate to add a "hide show" button in this row of actions. Thanks for the suggestion 👍🤝

Another option might be to only add this new functionality to the app if you prefer to not modify the website?

Re: Question about how to "hide show from homepage" when using a tablet?
Hi Santa, Apologies for messing up the other thread with my misunderstandings. So I'm wondering where does this request stand now? So far, as to what we had discussed I haven't seen any changes?

Yes not everything we discuss is immediately being integrated on the website. I have it in mind, and will implement it if I think of a good way to do it.

Thanks for the reply. 1. I think I had some misunderstanding because I thought that I read that this discussed changed had already been implemented in this latest round of changes. That is why, when I went looking for the new feature implementation, I confused this change with the already existing "stop tracking" feature for episodes of shows already being tracked. 2. Regarding a good way to implement this specific requested feature, I do agree with your previous suggestion to add a "hide show" link in the row of actions on the show's page is a clean solution and an obvious place to add this new feature. Thanks again for your understanding and consideration Leslie

Re: Question about how to "hide show from homepage" when using a tablet?
Hi Santa, Just checking in about helping to implement this new feature. As a quick refresher, I commented that if I am using a system with no mouse, eg, mobile device, then there is no mouse hover over event that will trigger the red X to display on 1st season episodes on the home page to "hide" that show in the future on the home page. As a way to implement this functionality on systems with no mouse you had suggested to add the "hide show" feature to the action row on the show's main page. I thought that was a great idea and you also seemed to think that this implementation made lots of sense. Any consideration to going in this direction is greatly appreciated. I find that I am finding myself on these mobile mouseless systems more and more and really jonesing for a solution to hide shows on these systems. Thoughts? Many thanks in advance for any consideration and speedy implementation. Leslie

Re: Question about how to "hide show from homepage" when using a tablet?
Can you now try long pressing on a homepage item (not in your watchlist, in first season) that you want to hide - on mobile?

To make sure that I understand correctly, long press on a show picture or show title? If that is correct then what I see are the standard chrome long-press options, like "open in new tab", "copy link text", etc. Am I doing that correctly?

You're doing it correctly, but I'm yet to test this on Android - I've only tested it on iOS. Will do a bit later today or tomorrow.

It works on Android for me too. Can you please make a screen recording of what you're doing, it may give me idea of what is happening and why it doesn't work for you. Cheers
