Topic: Everyone seems to have watched [x] except you
What TV show does it seem like "everyone" has watched, but you've never even bothered with one episode?
One for me is Hogan's Heroes. I even know "I know nussink" is from that show.

I thought the "I know nothing" quote was from Fawlty Towers, spoken by Manuel. He's from Barcelona.

I tried the first few episodes of each and just couldn't get into any of them.

I saw some of the first episode but really couldn't be bothered to learn a new set of names of people and places in a new "world".

I loved BB, but the rest? I've never watched a single episode of those. I really dislike Lorraine Bracco so Sopranos was automatically out. Maybe I'll try one of the others...someday.

OK, so I finally watched S01E01 of Parks and Recreations because I, too, want to be hep and cool and mod like, totally.
Actual thoughts:
- 21 minutes! I can do 21 minutes.
- So that's what Rashida Jones looks like.
- Hey! Aziz Ansari. He used to be funny.
- That guy's kind of cute, but he looks a little too much like Tucker Carlson.
- Oh, look! Chris Pratt! ...and he's an asshole. Jeez.
- What is wrong with that nurse? Why is she with him?
- How much...? 12 minutes?! There's still 12 minutes left?!
Conclusion: It was popular because the entertainment magazines *told us* it was popular.
Apologies if you like it. Maybe it gets better with more wine?

I usually give shows atleast 3 episodes to prove it is worth the watch. Most shows peak at seasons 3-5.

Never been a huge fan of that one either, but to be fair: you literally only watched the by far least popular episode from the by far least popular season. That's hardly a basis for any kind of assessment. Most of it was quite watchable.

Watched S01E01 of Futurama last night. I was definitely missing something fun when I passed on this one years ago. I kept pausing it to see the all the stuff in the background. This'll be good for me for in between episodes of other shows.
I guess the problem I had with P&R was that the characters were all annoying in some way and, so, I didn't care about any of them or what might happen to them. Yes, there are funny lines (IIRC).
Want to hear something funny? We're a little bored with our usual fare, so The Husband decided to read instead. I grabbed the remote and watched the above shows plus some of "my" shows. He couldn't stop himself from watching, too, so now he's in a bit of shellshock. XD

I tried It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, but I realized I just don't like Charlie Day. And with that, I just stopped watching it and the Sopranos looks so boring that I don't even bother. The others on the other hand are just the best for me.

the best shows BUILD a world slowly. bad shows throw you in the pool with no back story.
breaking bad is a rocket ship, its going to take a bit to get up to speed, but when it gets there you never want it to stop.
( nothing is prefect however, there is some junk you have to push through ( mostly family crap))

I avoided Breaking Bad for years cause I could not get past the first 20 minutes of episode 1. And I tried GoT only after I realized it was Thrones and not Game of Thrawns, in season3. Dummy me.
