Topic: Correction: Big Brother 2023 Donghua has incorrect Genre

Just watching it.

Corrections (+ add, - remove):
+ Comedy
- Drama (its not a Drama)
+ Fantasy
- Reality (not at all)

Also /dragon-prince-yuan
has Comedy and Drama applied together, but its not a Drama at all, but a Comedy

Should we consider adding the Genres: Donghua (chinese Anime) and Wuxia (chinese Cultivation)?
It is rather distinct from Japanese anime in humor, romance and culture so it deserves its own Genre.
However updating existing entries is not a small task.

Gemini says: Donghua (动画) is the Chinese term for animation, essentially China's answer to Japanese anime, featuring distinct cultural roots and storytelling. Wuxia (武俠) is a popular genre within donghua (and other media) about martial arts heroes, chivalry, and adventure in ancient China, focusing on jianghu (martial world) heroes with superhuman skills but grounded in human-level (though enhanced) martial arts and ethics, distinct from the more magical Xianxia

Updated the 2 shows.

Adding Donghua as a genre may make sense, though not many people will know what it is and I don't want to add too many genres in there (especially ones most people will not recognize).

Well, its not difficult to translate to english as "Chinese Anime" or "Chinese Animation".
Then there is the question wether to use "Chinese Anime (Donghua)" as label, which may be ugly and unusual in some dropdowns.
For input-option lists I would use "Anime Chinese" to make it sit beside the "Anime" genre.
Then one must consider if the preferred application is "Anime" && "Anime Chinese" or "Anime" || "Anime Chinese"

The second genre already exists as "Martial Arts" for Wu-xia (Martial Heroes) and Xian-xia (Immortal Heroes).

PS: Another problem that I am currently thinking about is that my Watchlist has many titles like "Wan Jie Du Zun" "Wu Ying Sanqian Dao" in it that do not allow me to recognize the show, because I need the english alt-title (which Chinese seem to have at least 3 variants of!) to recognize it. As software-engineer, I see no easy solution without at least a new user-option. Taking the substr to the 1st comma of the alt title may work. Hmm. Still thinking.

The forum does not allow (only me?) to post full URLs and rejected my post with a clear error message. I expected this to be spam prevention. I also use this in forums that I maintain, although with a whitelist. Probably this dos not apply to Admins.
