Re: Gen V (The Boys spinoff) (2023)

was this show just a fill in whilst they get the next seaon of the Boys here. I just watched the last season eps of the Boys and there must be some thing quite dramatic for the next season?

The Boys will end with season 5, so not much merging could happen there...

I have to disagree.

This was just another evil "genius" with a stupid plan which was half-a$$ed at the end.
Overall the episode felt poorly done with a certain lack to detail.

Only thing I really liked was the very last two minutes smile

Spoiler

First of all Cate. Even before Marie healed her it already looked like she no longer wore a wig. And when she healed her, what happend to the surgical staples in her skull? And it had no effect on the story...sure she convinced that dude to open the door - but that could've been done a million other ways.

A dude runs around Campus half naked (which is the normal part) screaming he is killing all of us (not so normal)...and what happens? Business as usual, background characters just walk their usual route with not a care in the world.
And then students still went into the training room???

Godolkin's plan...so his final "lesson" was training himself to be ready to control Odessa's? What? Couldn't he have done this the past few decades? I mean clearly his powers worked so good he could control people through a puppet.
I would even argue that it is comic book etiquette that using your powers in a weakend state overall makes you stronger...so he could've been already powerfull enough to control Odessa's after being healed...would've been more interesting and would fit what we saw at the end of Episode 7 better.

And then we have Polarity...Godolkin knows he is the only person who can disrupt his powers - so shouldn't his top priority be to kill Polarity? But yeah...coincidentally the plot works itself out with Sage...

About Sage...so they had a plan and with the slightest deviation from him she betrays him and sends Noir to kill Cipher and kidnap Polarity then release Polarity to kill Godolkin, wait what?...or what was her plan? Isn't she supposed to be the smartest person on the planet?

Would've been cool if just before he died he gained back his powers and somehow managed to transfer his concious into Polarity...admittedly a bit too Anime-like but better than what we got.

Deserved more runtime:
Abbys | Dead Like Me | Devs | Firefly | Gangsta. | Jack of all Trades | Kevin (probably) saves the World | Lodge 49 | Mrs. Davis | NYC 22 | Powerless | Roadkill | Special Unit 2 | Stumptown | Surface | The Brave | The Crazy Ones | The Finder | The Middleman | Truth Seekers | Two Weeks to Live | Whiskey Cavalier

Your points are valid, but I refuse to let them reduce the fun I had watching retroactively. tongue wink
