TeaAndApathy wrote:It's an interesting idea, but it could get messy or cause dissatisfaction. Let's assume the genres are taken from the TVDB just like a series description and order. You love action, adventure, and anime, but not sci-fi or drama. Star Wars: The Clone Wars counts as all 5 per the TVDB. Does it show? Or does it get filtered out?
This is true also for the feature of filtering the languages. Of course, some responsibility lies upon yourself to know where to draw the line.
For example, I set my filter to only English and Japanese. Japanese for anime. With this I take the risk of missing out on some anime from China and Korea. Since (imho) very good anime from these countries are still rare, I accept that risk.
For that, I sometimes just delete all filters and browse leisurely through the database.
And besides, you don't have to use the feature if you are afraid of missing out on something.
I presonally would use it to just filter out anything reality based: Reality TV, Documentary, Game Show, Garden/Landscape, News, Variety, etc. which do not interest me at all.
